From a Guide...
"how do you load this?"
"I am just going to keep it off safety...its easier that way"
"just look down the barrel and see if anything is in there"
"Hey I left my gun at home do you have one I can use" (in the blind)
"I think I $_hit myself"
"How did this shell get in here backwards"
"do you have to have a choke in the barrel?"
"Those decoys sure are sinking fast"
"The mojo took most of the shot"
And the Ultimate worst...
"Boooommmm....HOLY $_hit!!! How the hell did my gun just go off??"

I can put up with just about anything as long as the guest makes it to the spot on time and we get setup before LST. I have left a few people that were on the way to my house in the morning. When I say 5:30am at my house, I mean it. That doesn't mean to text me at 5:35 and state you are running late and will be in 5 minutes. I have waited before and it wasn' 5 minutes, more like 25 minutes. I will no longer wait.....5:30am is when I have to leave in order to get to my spot and get set up in time.

I hunted with a guy last week that I knew had gone to TU and he brought up not wanting to live in Austin again. I started in on my adamant disdain for anything Austin to include gays, liberals, and longhorns to which he replied that he was 2 of those. My jaw dropped. This guy is a 49 year old white male that owns land and hunts. I knew that gay thing wasn't possible because he is married and I knew the longhorn thing but hey we can't all be perfect in maroon and white. He then professed he was a liberal shortly following it up with "you can shoot me now" I no b.s. paused and looked at my shotgun. He went on to tell me he voted for Obama... BOTH EFFIN TIMES!!!!! I kept telling him that I knew he was jerking my chain and he kept denying it. I tried to talk to him and figure out exactly why he did that and none of it sounded like valid reasons to have done so. It was a quite remainder of the hunt and walk back to the truck.

Y'all wouldn't wanna hunt with me. I've said some of those. Especially "I need to dump" It wouldn't be a hunt if you didn't go for your predawn "walk".

"You shot the dog!" "This is boring. Can I shoot woodpeckers?" "Is that our boat floating away?" "I really don't have permission to hunt this place, so if you see a truck RUN!" "I hope we have enough gas to get us back." "BS! The limit is 10!" "Have you ever hunted on acid? *giggle" "Would you like to sleep with my wife?" "There is no God." "I have to be home by 9."

This is quite a funny thread. I'm enjoying reading many of the replies. The gun safety ones are funny and poignant. I'm not really looking to get into a political discussion here. Everyone is entitled to their viewpoint and opinion, but I have several things to say.
I've hunted since I was old enough to in my youth (started at 10). I am a staunch supporter of the second amendment. I've never taken a dime from the government in aid and currently work two jobs. I consider myself a political moderate. I voted for Obama both times as a resident of Texas. I'm an atheist. It's not all to one side of the political spectrum or the other with me. I only say this to make people realize not everyone who hunts has the same background, upbringing, or opinions. I consider myself an ethical, moral, and responsible person and who I voted for should not be a referendum on my character.

bird to the left, bird to the right, bird behind us, bird on the water, bird up high, bird right there, to all of which I replied, coot, or cormorant for two hours.
My blind is good, I dont need any natural stuff.
(Me) Don't move, (swish) I said don't move! (Him) I didn't move, I was getting ready.
Dad, there is a spot you shouldn't step!
