Someone should contact the guy trying to sell the rifle.. Tell him he would get more responses if he posted it on here. If it is the stolen rifle i hope someone is able to get it before it disappears...

I disagree... Don't take the accused to where he can see that the rifle is being looked for!

Here's an E-slap for you! trout

Bad idea. If anyone alerts him to texashuntingforum, he will see this thread, and dissapear.

Criminal activity of all sorts and simple craziness always seems to spike as the holidays approach. Just a word to the wise... "Be careful out there."

Are there any Austin area LEOs on here? It seems like there's enough information here for someone to go bust this guy.

I hate that it was stolen. I hope it's the rifle you're looking for. Good luck.

Thank you to each and every one of you.

The "official" hats off seems to go to Ag Hunter 78. He said he would definitely keep his eyes open. He certainly did. smile

Got a PM back from Russell. I just happened to be on the TGT last night and did a search for "Tikka" since I like them and keep my eye out for a good deal. Saw the ad for the 25-06 and it rang a bell that is was a lefty and that it had a custom thumbhole stock. Double checked Russell's stolen rifle post and sure enough, I knew it had to be it even though I was thinking "what a dumb POS to post it for sale like that!" Hope they bust his azz and that the rifle is returned safely to where it belongs. I have a friend who is a local LEO and gave Russell his number.

Wow. You guys sure did a lot of the detective work, from finding the guy's name, phone number, e-mail, and even the rifle's serial number. Just in case the guy deletes the ad, I took a pic of it and sent it to Russell. I think we all need to ease off and not spook the guy. Let the law take it from here since you all have pretty much made the case for the LEOs already!
