I am looking for an American made receiver hitch game hoist that swivels. Would like it well made, heavy duty, and easy to beak down and store. Thanks, Craig

heavy duty and breakdown to store don't often work together. Where are you located? There is a cheap version on amazon for $80, Cabelas sells a better one from Monarch but its nearly $200 or have someone here build you one.

I hate monarch stuff but I have never had a problem with the reciever hitch mount device thingy.
We clean every deer from a device like this. They work great. Find yourself a good gambrel

I'd throw one together but shipping would cost twice what the hoist would run.
Good time to start welding.

I got this one a year ago from the Sportsmans Guide for $80 and it works great. It has hoisted 2 deer and 3 hogs. Fits in my truck and polaris ranger receiver. Even use it to haul heavy stuff out of my p/u bed.

I am sure Mr. Redneck could work something up for you.

I made mine out of tube steel it doesn't swivel but I welded a basket at the base to lay the animal in to secure during transport

I am new to your forum. I make a game hoist that is the best hoist on the market. You can lift up to 500 pounds. The hoist weighs less than 11 pounds. It can be stored behind the seat of your truck or carried in a backpack. It can also be used as a feeder hanger. No assembly is requird and it comes with a gambrel. I sell if for 99.00, but can ship it to you for 110.00. You can see it by searching youtube for Hunter's Portable Hoist. It is not receiver mounted, but you can load game with it. Jim Owen

I have the monarch hitch hoist. I bought a gambrel from academy. I have used it once on a doe and it did fine, although there are learning curves involved (like don't try to skin a deer on a slope, it will keep swinging around and make it more difficult). One thing I will say about the monarch is the winch appears to be a good one. Super easy to wind up the doe and it locks/ unlocks really easy.

That is one reason I put reason I put a hook "holder" on mine so that you can tie off a deer/hog. You might try tieing off to the square tubing if nothing else.

Built it a few years ago. But still, it was done. I used a 1/4 "thick 2" handset. He will probably pick up the elephant if the truck can handle it. If I ever create another one that I plan to do, I instead use 11 gauge steel. I also made my turn so that you could load your animal into the back of the truck. Since I used 1/4 steel, this didn't make this inconvenient. I applied a piece of a solid round rod to the swivel part. The main thing that I wanted was to be able to open the back door when using it. Many of those that I found commercially available for purchase http://huntingfishingplus.com/best-deer-hoist/ did not extend far enough to open the back door. I also use this gambrel. It takes up much less space and will have the same weight as any steel gambrel, and you can store it in a small bag.

I can vouch for Mr Holt's game hoist. They are high quality and solid. I have bought two from him -- showed the first one to a friend and he liked it so much he insisted I sell it to him. Then Mr Holt built me another and even painted it A&M maroon for me! That thing will outlast me. At my uncle's place, the game cleaning stuff he has has seen better days, so my hoist also doubles as a game cleaning station.

This is what I use. It has packed many animals out of the woods.
