i dont want to sound like a know it all but this is what i do for a living, 25 years in the business. i have built custom homes to dog houses to custom decks and everything in between .
im in san antonio tx.
custom decks and back yard projects is my main push for the last 10 years . to old to be building homes anymore.

As an instructional consultant for a large school district, I would like to invite Dime Box and Vanguard to think about getting teaching credentials. There are two ways to tell if someone knows what they're talking about: understanding that the way to evaluate what you do know is to recognize what you don't and being able to give constructive critisism without being offensive or claiming to be the authority.
The pay doesn't pay guys but its something to think about...

man i hate to keep sounding condescending but....
without ceiling joists that roof system is very weak, its gonna sag, i see theres a temporary support on the ridge, when you pull that out its going to sag and push the outer walls out in the center. you can do an open rafter system but the ridge should have been a beam, so it wouldnt sag, i would recommend putting a pole in the center of the room to the ridge if its going to stay like this.
This is true, I found out the hard way. I wasn't the smartest pupil in physics class...Had to find out the hard way. Lesson learned. Still looks good ,otherwise.

Thanks guys but trust me it will be fixed. one thing you can try is put a temporary support under the ridge in the center with a jack underneath, give a little positive pressure giving the ridge about a 3/4 inch deflection up, finish decking and roofing then put some 2x6x12' collar ties in on each rafter, then lower your jack and see how much it deflects down, this will be a lot lot stronger and deflection probably wont be bad.
