Had a young 8 following two does to feeder on the creek when I got on stand. Activity has picked up tenfold since Friday morning. Loving the cooler weather.....

Ok, this evening was by far the best sit I've had all season thus far. I had the two does and younger 8 coming in right after I got sat down. I got onthe stand later than I wanted to, about 4:30. Anyhow, not long after my first post I spot 6 does coming Into my other feeder. I've got a 20' tripod on a high spot off the bank off Buck Creek where I'm at. I have a feeder 215 yards in the opening of a huge funnel off the creek and another 165 yards about 100 yards off the actual creek bed. The 6 does are heading to the top feeder and I start scanning behind the group and catch 2 does running with 2 bucks in slight chase, tall young 6 and a 3.5 yr old 10 with a broke G-3 on the left side. They fed at the feeders forever and started breaking up. Right at dark a big big bodied buck comes into the floodplain from the top pivot, weird but anyhow. It was so dark I could not ever really tell what he was but he should be on cam at both feeders. I'll check after AM hunt. One last thing, I laid a scent trail this evening walking in just to see where they're at. This bully after dark followed it all the way to where I was sitting minus about 80 yards in front of me and I lost him in the dark. I waited forever to get down and finally snuck out and never heard anything spook. Heck of an evening. Oh yeah and I just knew I was going to get drug down by a wompus kitty on the way back. Awful dark. Can't wait for the morning, pop a top time........

This morning the deer weren't moving in the open until about 8. Saw young bucks chasing does. Passed a 4.5 year old 10 that would not let two does get any further than 50' from him or he would chase and catch up. That went on all morning. Had pics of bucks feeding with does at 1:45pm today at other spots. Movement is picking up. Had a close friend tell me the bucks in Shamrock area are in chase phase. I wouldnt say the deer here are quite yet there yet but they are not far out. I'm in the stand and will update if I'm able. Happy hunting

Tonight was a bit slower than last night. I saw a young 6 and 9. The nine chased two does that came in later. Pretty unproductive compared to last night. Headed to a different stand in the morning near MikeC's area. Checked the cam today over there and had two nice bucks on cam during shooting light and landowner saw three bucks over there this morning and 2 of them were nice

Saw a nice 4.5 8 real early on the neighbors. Seen about 10 does total, probably would have seen more deer but I was hunting in a ground blind bc my tripod fell overland bent. Headed to walk out some mesquite flats with the rattlin horns

a 3.5 yr old 10 with a broke G-3 on the left side. Saw so many broken points around there after drought. Thought they would strengthen back up this year after the good rains we had. Shot a solid 8 that year that had about 4 inches knocked off G2...

Back on stand since about 3:20. I'm sure missing the colder weather now. Wishing things would get crazy like Monday night. We shall see I guess but it's pretty warm out.....

TexasAg, there's actually a little water running, I heard gunshots on the river before noon today. I have a pasture to hunt about 1.5 miles from the banks. I'm guessing you're an Aggie hence the name. I'm a member of Class of 2006 myself. How bout them Ags upsetting Bama? Would have loved to been there!
