Been seeing quite a few deer on cameras since September. Anyone know if they are starting to chase?

Good luck to you too and welcome to the forum. We have had a lot of deer on camera also but mostly at night. If we get some good pictures from the cams this weekend I will post a few next week.

we had some smaller bucks chasing a little bit last weekend but not really anything to get excited about I think it was just the cool weather making them a little frisky

We're close to Breckenridge. Been seeing a bunch on camera. We went out there 2 weekends ago to make sure everything was good to go and saw between 10-15. One REALLY nice buck that we haven't seen on cam yet. I'm curious to see if there starting to chase at all this weekend.

I'm North of Breakenridge about 15 miles along the river. Seeing a lot of pigs and have some decent bucks on camera. Mostly at night but had a nice 9 point on camera that might go low 130s a couple mornings around 9:30. Lots of fawns too looks to have been a good fawn crop this year.

I hunt about 11 miles outside of Graham heading towards Breakenridge. We have not seen a whole lot of chasing so far but we have had a nice ten and a handful of 2-3 year old 8's on cam. I'm thinking that the rut will be in full swing in a couple of weeks and the big boys will be on the prowl. As we all know, the pigs are in Charge in our area and we are seeing them like clock work at our feeders from 5:30(pm) until dark. Heading out this weekend to see the progress! Good luck to you guys and keep me posted as will I!

Been hunting in Stephens county since 97. The rut will be kicking off around the 8th till just before Thanksgiving. Watched 4 young bucks 1.5 and 2.5 yr olds yesterday along with 4 does and 4 fawns. The bucks paid no attention to the Does.

Hunt just North of you on 183 and "No" rutting activity to speak of!! If you are new to hunting this area, The better hunting is closer to T'giving (Like Stompy mentioned above!!) Been hunting the that area since '94....The Hunting get's better as the season goes along and the hunting pressure lessons and the acorns get eatin' up and we get a couple of Cold Snaps down here!!! You can shoot something opening weekend, but my advice is to WAIT!!!!! YOU WILL THANK ME LATER!!!!

We are in south Stephens County, just a few miles north of the Eastland county line. No movement at all yet. Acorns are everywhere and feeders look like golden ponds. Will be changing opening day strategy by setting up a brushed in ground blind between bedding area and water source and away from feeders and permanent blind. Or spot and stalk. Fortunetaly we have some decent elevation change where I can glass for movement. Needless to say it will be a tough opening weekend. Looks like the moon won't help either.

I'm going up Tomorrow to set up a ground blind by a pond that is covered in tracks. Might as well sit in it Friday to see if anything shows up to it. And then I'll make my plans from there.

Aggie I'm about a mile and a half south of it on the river. Should I take my fishing pole this weekend? Heard there were some cats in that river.

U Bet!! Big Yellow Cats!! If you ever have a chance, take the Crystal Falls Highway and go down to that small town and on the left, after you pass over the river, look at all of those Big Catfish heads that guy has hanging on the fence!!!

We were in the stand all weekend and had lots of young bucks wanting to start chasing, had one nice 8 point locked down with a doe come by about 2 in the afternoon and we could not get him stopped for anything!
The 2 bigger bucks we seen stayed in the brush working their scrapes. This warm weather this week will probably put a damper on the chasing, I would say should get good in about 2 weeks!
