Model seven in .308. Very light handy little gun that is easy to carry through the woods. Only down Side is since it is so short and so light it is hard to steady for an off hand shot. But one of the main reasons is because I haven't killed anything with it yet

Leavin my browning .270 in the safe an taking my remington model 700 bdl in .243 that i got from my grandpa who passed last year. after he died grandma gave it to me so i am taking him with me to the stand Good call - I was able to take my first deer with my step brothers 30-30 a few months after he passed. We were close and he asked me what a good "all around" rifle was and that's what I told him. Didn't know he bought it before he passed. That was something special - Good luck to you! For me - I'll be taking my new Stag Mod 7 (6.8mm AR) and I can't wait!

I'll be using my Weatherby 25.06 this year. I have a nice Remmy 700 in .270 that works great but I figured I'd change it up this year for the heck of it. If those two won't work then there's always this:  Welp, now I know what Joe Diffie has been up to. And I will have my FN 30-06 bolt action that my PawPaw built me for my HS graduation. Man I love that gun!
