We have a place in Talpa. This is the second year to hunt it. The pics. are very promising. We have seen some good deer last year but waited to see what the season brought us. This year we will start managing the place. Friday night ribs at big "o's" is a must!

I enjoy wearing my Permian gear in there when I go since he was a Odessa high grad. Good guy and good food. Good to talk fishing with too..

That would be Norita's correct? Used to eat there all the time when we hunted in Santa Anna.

To the OP, IMHO Coleman County is one of the best Countys in that part of Texas.

Big O's has great food. I always stuff myself and take two racks of ribs to-go. Novice Cafe is also really good. They have a big ole green chili cheese burger that will do you right.

Novice Cafe also serve's up a pretty good home cooked breakfast. We hunt right outside of Novice and eat there every year....never had the burger..I'll have to give it a try.

How far is Santa Anna from Coleman? We need to visit this Big O's and see what all the fuss is about.

Good numbers of deer, hogs are spotty in that area. I've spent alot of time in that area, also a decent number of exotics and seem to be getting more of them every year.

Lots of movement at night. High fences places the bucks are still bachelored up. deer are still more interested in green grass than feeders. This warm weather this week has stifled all the rut like activity.

I have 205ac south of coleman hardly ever see the bigger bucks on wheat fields they stay in the thick mesquite. The dove hunting is really good. Awsome spring turkey hunting. Lots of farming in that country, deer dont seem to come to corn like they do in south Texas. Don't forget Hildago's in Coleman my wife is from the valley and she says Hildago's is the best mexican food she has had.
