a 9mm auto, is she is comfortable with an auto, then a .357 mag she can shoot .38 special til she learns to shoot. the .380 is a fad for now and no way compares to a 9mm or .357. lots of women are uncomfortable with an auto pistol. take your time and make sure she feels at home with whatever she chooses.

Thanks Chris but I'm in Florida
We went to the range today, she shot 9mm, 22, 38, 45 and 357. She liked the 357 the best. I figured she would have liked the 9 but she shot better and handled the recoil really well. She was shooting 38's 130 gr....she definitely liked the revolvers more than the pistols. I might get her the Ruger Single Six Convertible so she can enjoy the revolver in both 22 and 22mag for now
Thanks for all the advice

Take a good look at the SP101, they're great durable reliable guns. Definitely ask her if she wants a 22 or 357/38. My wife got really bored with a 22, after a couple of range sessions.

I usually say a small revolver for these questions. And there are some good ones in 9mm and .380 if that's already what you lean to.

Take her to the range at Winchester Gallery she can shoot just about anything and see what fits her.

Let her try a bunch since it ia not a carry gun but a fun gun a 22 is a lot fun. One of the 1911 22's might be a good idea. My wife thought she wanted a short 357 till she shotmy 45 .now she wants a comander size for her house. /lease pistol. Justvcause they are girls dont mean they got to have little guns teach em right and they can handle a proper cartridge
