Hell yeah. I've got the numbers of a couple highly suggested guides and will book 1 or both of them. I'll then pay the $75 taxi service. Thank yall VERY MUCH for the recommendations. I will post a full report when I get back.

Don't forget trophy sprigs!!!!!

Other way for us down by goose.

I had to take the gun away from my wife... We always seemed to limit on sprigs right off the bat....then as it gets lighter they get dumber, they keep landing in the spread and she wants to kill them.. she's great shooting singles and doubles but a big flock of 20 redheads roll through she misses them..always

I agree BOBO, we tore up the pins last season south of the JFK. Even boated a 6 year old banded sprig late in the season. And for some reason last year was hands down our best season ever on greater scaup on the open laguna out of the scull. Pretty much saw them every trip out. Way to go on the wife hunting with you. I took mine once, she fell in filled her waders and that was that.

Redheads and pintails are the "anchor" ducks, then thrown in some bluebills and sometimes teal.

I would be a content man shooting Pintails all day. I know that I can make them taste GOOD. Never had a readhead. I hear that they taste like a really tender, gamey cut of possum.

No, the redheads on the coast aren't gamey at all. They eat nothing but vegetation from the bay.

Nothing like a spoonie that will eat snails, crawfish, worms and other crap living in the mud.

Pluck a Redhead duck not breast but pluck
Fill a pot with water
Add crawfish boil
Bring water to a rolling boil
Turn water down to a simmer now
Add redhead duck
simmer for about a hour
Take out the Redhead duck filet meat off the bone and enjoy

Thank me later

Tried the crawfish boil on coastal redhead and I couldn't finish it. I'd like to try it on a freshwater red this year though.
