Are you sure you didn't add the spread in with the beams?

I'd like to see some basic number on that rack,
congrat, thats a great buck.
kt Ok. I didn't want to be the first to say it. It's a great buck for sure but 161? Are you sure you didn't add the spread in with the beams? The Boone & Crocket website has a great calculator on it. You enter all the data and it uses what's appropriate. Like I said, great buck! cody knows what hes doing...not his first rodeo...why cant u take his word for it Ummm.....my guess is because that's a helluva buck that we would all shoot (including me in a heart beat), but he isn't a 161 based on the picture poasted. You would have to post some additional pictures or the measurements to convince me. BUT don't get your panties in a wad, I'm not being a hater. Same here. Not being a hater. I saw a 158" eight point that was hit by a truck just south of Collinsville some years back. That's what I'm comparing it to and I know every buck is different. But it looked like something you'd see in Canada on a good day.

Ok so I'm stupid. I see 9 points so why is he calling it a main frame 8 instead of a 9 point? I could see if he said main frame 8 + 1 but he didn't. Also it is a nice buck, but seriously 161? Maybe he posted a pic of the wrong deer? OK so I remember this post a few days ago, he called it a straight 8. I don't believe that buck would qualify as a 8pt in a contest, would it? http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3617207/Huge_8#Post3617207

This deer has 8 points on his main frame. The +1 is the kicker. Very nice deer I would shoot him with a bow.

Guys....Cody is a professional. He has nothing to gain by coming on here and lying about the score of a deer.
Also, yes this deer is a main frame 8 point....not a 9. Even if he had 5 kickers....he would still be a main frame 8 point. The number of points on the main frame is not always the same as total number of points.
To those of you who are doubting the score, did you actually look at the deer?? He is lacking mass, but he has tremendous tine and beam length (which is where the majority of score comes from). I don't doubt for a minute that he is a 160" deer. I imagine the score sheet looks something like this...
Right Side
G-1: 5" G-2: 15" G-3: 10" H-1: 4.5" H-2: 3" H-3: 3" H-4: 2.5" Beam: 26"
Left Side
G-1: 4" G-2: 14" G-3: 12" H-1: 4.5" H-2: 3" H-3: 3" H-4: 2.5" Beam: 26"
Abnormal Point (Kicker): 3.5"
Inside Spread: 18" ______________________________________________
Est. Total: 159 4/8" (I'm sure I'm off on the mass or beams by an inch or two, but you get the idea)

Ladies & Gents
My partner guided this hunt as I am out of town untill Friday. I scored him on the hoof twice and came out to the exact measurements stated above. This deer does not carry alot of mass like most large bucks but has superior length. I have 0 gain for lieing on its size, quite the opposite. Potential hunters see these comments on a buck size that a few folks think is incorrect, they start thinking I'm going to score their deer higher to make a few extra bucks or I don't know how to score a buck.. I am 100% positive of this were score as my partner and I have successfully guided well over 200 hunters in five years, from spikes to 261" giants.
I hope everyone understands and has an awesome season!!!

Nice main frame 8. Got any trail camera pics of him?

But you said "spread"....and inside spread absolutely is included in the score.
