Good story Chital and I like the way you handle yourself on the forum for a young man. Your father has raised you correctly. Keep on respecting the animals and even the naysayers on the forum. Congrats on your bow kill! You and your Dad can be my hunting partner anytime!

I thought the kid did pretty good. That picture with that fallow is priceless. Way to go chital. Good to see a youth hunter here on the forum as active in the outdoors and participating here as much as you do.

Nicely done chitshak up

Nothing like bow hunting and looks like your practice paid off with a couple of good shots. Sounds like a good time hunting and spending time with the family cheers

Congrats young man. Way to put the arrow where it belongs. That's a good sized fallow doe.

On a side note most summers the deer will be pretty skinny due to what the are eating and intestinal parasites suck down lots of the nutrients. When they start eating acorns the tannin acid (from the acorns) helps flush them and they start putting on weight easier. At least that's what an old guy who claimed to be a biologist told me.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

good stuff and nice kills. great shot on your fallow for sure.

to me, that wt spike should have been culled anyway. that much length with no brow tines or points would get him culled on our place real quick.

Stuff my dad said in the deer blind

"I can dive deeper and come up drier"
"did you do that?"

I've been following the forum for several years but never felt the need to voice my opinion, until now.
I think it's great to see a young man and his family in the outdoors(hunting/fishing,etc).What I dont get is the so called ADULTS,you know who you are,who feel the need to put down people or try to make them feel bad.Maybe little man syndrome and are envious of a young man who seems to be very grown up and has great patience for the loosers who try to put him down.
Good work young man and keep it up,you are much more mature thany many men twice your age.

thanks for your opinion but by no means was anyone putting him down, hell we all think it's great he's out hunting but I know what was said and exactly what happened on this trip as to why I asked about the spike and I'm far from envious of any one, I enjoy seeing everyones kills and congratulate anyone if it's a spike or a 200" deer. I'll stop at that because the real point of this forum is this young man did a great job w his bow and made 2 great shots and that's what matters but what his uncle did was wrong period. If you have a problem with something I have said we can talk about it in PM but I refuse to bash this post over your ignorance and something you have no idea about.

A spike was shot, big deal. Why talk down to a young man who did'nt make the mistake that all of us have made at some time in our lives.I shot a button buck when I was 15,still remember that deer and hope my son never does the same thing.I think I learned from that.
My point was we as hunters need to encourage the young not put down their opions or make fun of their thoughts, actions, etc.
I have seen alot of this kids posts and a few always seem to put him down, just wonder why.
