Need instructions or photos for a hog trap. Nothing fancy just what works. Buddy at work needs one and wants to build one for fun.

their are so many styles to build. you want easy with hog pannels or want to make it out of tubeing or what??

Can do what ever, it must fit in the back of a truck for transport.

then all you need is some hog pannels some angle iron or quare tube, bolt, cable,and 2 pieces of pipe about 1 inch long that the bolt will pass through but stop at the head

Hes probably thinking box trap like somebody showed. Is one door style better than another? Roof or not? Just trying to catch a few for fun, nothing fancy

Very good trap in my opinion! It also depends on what size hogs you have! I have had some pigs over 300 get in there and tear it up! But if you have some smaller pigs in the 100-150 range then this is perfect!

Hog panel, t posts, few 2x4 #3s, piece of plywood and small cuts of 1x4 & small cable & pulleys & wire ties.

How do the pigs set it off?

Trip wire in the back of the trap, that runs on pulleys to the gate. The wire is hooked to the panel and they're getting fed for a week before it gets set. Have caught over 20 in traps designed like that.

My son and his buddy built two of these in my garage when they were juniors in high school. My son's buddy had the welding and fabrication knowledge. I want to say it was around $150 in materials to build one of these. We have caught to ton of hogs in these.

I forgot to mention, I can load this trap in the back of my truck by myself and move it anywhere I want. It takes very litte effort to move.

Exactly passthru. That was their main focus. Easy to build, economical materials, and easy to relocate from place to place. We have a coral trap as well and you really have to beef those things up with t-posts or they will bust out. That's what happened to us anyway.

We did end up cutting the bottom out of our box trap so we wouldn't have to crawl in and get our dead hogs. We just tilt it over on its side and drag them out.

I got a heavy one I can't move except with trailer and come alongs and need a lighter one.

You're correct. I can't tell you how many times I've moved that thing by myself. Just stand it up on its end, back the truck up to it, and lay it over into the bed. My 5'4 wife could probably load it. I think it's 3'h x 4'w x 8'l.

I don't have anymore pics of the trigger and the trap is 3 hours away. What you need to do is look at the pic and mirror that with about a 12"-18" long round pipe or rebar at your trigger. You run a cable from the door, over the trap, and back down to the trigger (rebar or pipe). The weight of the door keeps the trigger engaged. We place ours under a 5 gallon feeder that throws at 6:30 every night. We have the trap positioned where the corn will fall to the very back of the trap, behind the trigger. When we aren't there we leave the door propped open with a t-post. This way the hogs get comfortable getting in the trap. When we get to the lease all we have to do is set the trigger and pull the t-post out.
