I guess it depends on what exactly your going to be doing with it.
I have shot plenty of hogs at night with just the gun and scope I normaly use. On a night with a bright moon you can shoot just fine. Especialy on our place down south, if you have a clear night a 1/4 moon is plenty bright to shoot hogs under the feeder.
Shot one at my buddies place at over 200 yards at 10:30 at night with a 3x9-40 zeiss.
That and if you are gonna be feeder hunting get some of the landscaping solar lights.
