How'd the new rig handle the wind?
Nice haul! No problems. The boat is a ruff ride in the wind. Handles waves no problem. I like it.

33 years of Hunting Ducks on the Red River. New Season. New Boat. Same good time as always. That's great Rob, congrats, you're an inspiration to us all. This will be my 10th season. Went on my first duck hunt 2003, and was hooked day 1. Seems like yesterday. Good luck this season.

My 56th will start next weekend, the good Lord willing. Even though my Cappy boy couldn't hunt with me the last two because of health issues, now that he's gone I miss him even more ferociously.
Rob ... Great start! Talk about what you saw and how they responded to decoys and calls, please.
Cappy ... At my side for thirteen years, in my heart forever.

Rob ... Great start! Talk about what you saw and how they responded to decoys and calls, please. I hope to get that many seasons Jim. It was a classic teal hunt. Hundreds of birds in and out of the decoys before shooting time. At shooting time I picked out one bird from the first five flocks that came in. First bird was the greenwing. Then a bluewing. Flocks of about 10 to 30 birds. Missed one bird with the first shot. Then took the last bluewing. Total time. 15 minutes.

Great looking hunt there Rob. You got 1 yr on me. By chance you remember the winter/duck season of 82? I think it stayed below freezing for 30+ days straight. One of my most enjoyable waterfowl seasons ever.

Great looking hunt there Rob. You got 1 yr on me. By chance you remember the winter/duck season of 82? I think it stayed below freezing for 30+ days straight. One of my most enjoyable waterfowl seasons ever. Yes I remember that season. 1983/84 I was hunting east of Willis bridge on lake Texoma. Everything west of there was froze solid.
