For dove hunting I have a Remington 11-87 12 gauge and a Miroku O/U 12 gauge. Miroku is the same company that makes the Citori(sp?) for Browning. I prefer the O/U to the semi. How do you like the Condor? I've been wanting to get a 20 gauge O/U.
Did you ever get your turkey in Lampasas County? Have a good one!

I have an old Ithaca side by side that kicks like a mule but she sure is pretty! Looks like a 20 ga. but is a 12. Has shorter barrels but I love it!

870 but sure wouldn't mind something lighter and auto, but its nice and reliable.
My dad picked up a Yildiz and for what it paid with it its a half decent shotgun.

Beretta 687 SPII two barrel set; 20 & 28 gauge. I switch barrels depending on how the birds react.
Every now and then, I take out my Merkel or my Aya both in 20 gauge.

Your stoeger is NOT built by benelli. They have a similar inertia system, but that is it. Stoegers are great guns for the money, but they are definitely not a Benelli. They are all owned by Beretta.

20 gauge Ruger Red Label over and under with 26" barrels. If not that gun a Remington 870, also in 20.

Actually Dan, I have both a benelli and a stoeger. Stoegers are imported by Benelli and made in Turkey. Benelli is made in Italy. They are not made by the same people. Do your research before you call BS. I hope you can cope with this. Using your train of thought- an Aston Martin is just a ford taurus.

A Stoeger is nowhere near the same quality as a Benelli. Take them apart side by side and see. The metal is a lower grade and the Stoeger doesn't have the same bullet proof spring in the stock like a Benelli. It is a decent gun but shouldn't be confused with a Benelli IMO.

Duckkilla and Diezel Rocker are right about Stoeger vs Benelli...if you want a Benelli and the quality you have to pony up to get the real deal. But yes...they are all in the same family I guess you could say...they are all owned by Beretta.
Buddy of mine has a Stoger Condor...he doesnt like it and wants a new shotgun. I've shot it and think it's a great O/U for the money.
As far as the first question goes when I dove hunt I'm normally just using my SBE II the same gun I use for duck hunting. I used my dad's Winchester Model 50 in years past as well as a pump. At this point I'm pretty happy with using the SBE II...recoil is pretty soft with dove loads (probably softer than a 20g O/U) and I don't need the challenge of a smaller ga or only two shots.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

Another thing to add about the Stoeger vs Benelli deal...it's kind of like how Ford and Jaguar are owned (or where owned, not sure now) by the same company. But just because they are owned by the same company doesnt mean they are build to the same standards.

Correct. Pretty sure Ford still owns Jag.

www.ford.com looks like they own a lot of car companies. Land Rover, Volvo, Lincoln, Mercury, etc.

I was using a Mossy 500 but changed that to a slug gun for deer, now I use my condor 12ga for everything wingshooting and love it. I do have an old Sears and Roebuck 16ga that i sometimes take out of the vault but very rarely....
