So the HF gave them super ninja powers of ghost-like elusiveness that they never had before?
Now we are arguing HF make things HARDER. So hard it's a Herculean feat to lay eyes on even a DOE (much less actually shoot the wily beast)?
Well I'm at a loss for words.
NP, the lawyer is coming out in you. All you want to do is argue for the sake of arguing. I've hunted this property several times and yes, it's extremely difficult to hunt. Much more so than any of my LF deer leases in recent memory. Just FYI, once hunting traffic picks up on the ranch the deer become nocturnal. And I'm not arguing. I'm reporting on personally observed FACTS. Believe it or not.

He routinely takes some 170-180 class bucks every year now. Keep in mind that when he bought the place you were lucky to see anything above 110. you couldn't have made my point better. why was all of this possible? supplemental feeding, predator elimination, keeping the states deer out of your neighbors sights, and I won't get into unwilding the deer. so that is legal and I will support his right to do it, but it doesn't pass the smell test with me and how I want to hunt. 10 years ago you couldn't find a 115" buck on our place.....we bought and leased more land around our edges.....slowed the poaching and highly limited our trigger fingers...... Changes some of our ag crops around and now the sky's the limit. It's amazing what limiting pressure can do. It funny but the management practices that us LF guys implemented to grow better deer then we have ever had are the same ones the early HF put into play and perfected.... Those guys cared about their herd and to the responsibility to managed their land to the fullest

I wasn't arguing. In fact, I simply said I was at a loss for words after reading your argument. I remain so.

NP, what size property do you hunt and what kind of bucks are you shooting(age and score)? How long have you been on it and what kind of management do you implement?Just curious.
If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

And I can tell you one effective way to hunt the place. A deer drive with guys spread out across a two mile line. When they have walked the breadth of the place the deer will be there. I promise. And not because God put them there. Try the same tactic on a low fenced place and see how it works.

The question is irrelevant to this thread but I don't mind answering: 375 acres. Management is food plots, supplemental feeding, taking our doe, and going light on our bucks. ARs have been a big help. Shooting 3.5 (preferably 4.5) 120 and up deer. A total of 5 over the last 6 years. Coupla bruisers
