Just curious to get some thoughts on what everyone sets their game cameras interval trigger speed for, and how many pictures they take over a weeks time on a reasonably busy area.
I have a Bushnell Trophy cam I set out 3 weeks ago with an 8 GB card and realized its set to 10 sec from the factory and I'm worried I have no pictures since about 5 days into it...

If I use a 10 sec delay on a water trough I will get around 1000 pics in a 5-6 days on a Primos Truth 35. If I do the same on a feeder I get less pics due to less activity to trip sensor to take pics.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

I usually set my delay from 1 to 5 minutes, but I do 3 second bursts. A lot of times, it could be at least a month before I go out there, so I don't want to have my card fill up in a few days. I figure most deer should stay at a feeder for 5 minutes, especially at night. I usually set up my game cams on feeders.

Got mine set at 10 sec. aimed at feeders (like to see different angles, body shots, etc.) and had one camera take 1125 pics and the other had 1299 on it over the last week. Most were does but there were several bucks and a bunch of pigs.

I have the trophy cam HD with plot watcher, and I have that set to take pics every 5 minutes from 6:30 am to 8:00 am and then again every 5 minutes from 6:45 pm to 8:30 pm. I have the delay between "triggered" shots set at 15 seconds. That would give me a guarantee of around 280-300 shots per week (rough estimate but counting them out gives 287 for 7 days) in addition to any motion detected shots.
In the first two weeks I put my cams up, I had 1200 or so pics on the one and over 1600 on the other. I did have some cattle shots, and those tended to take up some of the numbers, but not as much as I thought they would. Most of the pics were deer (doe) and some coon and other varmints.
The 10 second delay/interval should not be giving you ZERO pics, esp if in a busy area.
Are you sure you have it turned on and not accidently turned onto setup? If it is turned on and you have ZERO pics, I would check it out at home and make sure the cam is working. If it is working, make sure it can support 8GB card. I think the old trophy cams would only accept 4GB max cards. The new Trophy cam HD will support up to 32 (I run 8 gb on mine no problem) but I think the older ones might only support 4GB max??

Well over a 3 week period the trophy cam had taken 2180 pics over a feeder with a 10 sec trigger speed, I upped it to 15 sec since I will not be able to check it for about a month. Surprisingly the batteries were still showing full, guess those Energizer Lithium batteries are worth $8 per 4...
Thanks for everyone's input!

I hunt on public land, which means no baiting of any kind. This means that the deer won't linger very long in the areas that I hunt.
To get the best idea of whats out there I set my cam to hybrid mode. Hybrid mode on this Moultrie is both a Plot Watcher and a motion detection trail cam. I programmed the Plot watcher for every 30sec for the first and last 2 hours of daylight. The rest of the day and at night it defaults to regular motion detection and I have the photo delay trigger set for 15sec.

If you have it over a feeder, 45 sec to 1 min is what I would recommend, that should get you at least a couple of pics of each visitor and keep your card from filling up too fast.
