Here is my New Mexico Antelope I took this past weekend. It took 11 long years to finally draw a tag. Three hours and on the third stalk sealed the deal at 80 yards. This was the first time using the NAP bloodrunner and I am sold on them. I have some very graphic pics of blood loss from the lope but I won't post those. 15.5" speedgoat weapon of choice

That's got to be a tough hunt in the flatlands and brush with a bow! Details please!

That's got to be a tough hunt in the flatlands and brush with a bow! Details please! Scouted this goat 3 weeks previous, my buddy found him first and it was decided he would have first chance at him. Saturday morning right at daybreak we locate him. He was about 500 yards from any road so off we go for a stalk and get to about 150 yards and he busts us and hauls off. We figured he was leaving the country the way he took off. He heads off to the west so we drive down this road we were on and it curves to the east and back north. We went a 1/4 mile or so and my buddy hollars to stop cause he sees a lope. We look him over and figure out it's the same one we were just on and he doubled back on us. He heading to cross a road so we go for the cut off and I drop my buddy in line with where the goat is going cross and I move on down the road. The goat heads right towards him and spots him at about 125 yards then it was a 20 minute stare down. The goat then decides to head right towards me and the truck so I quickly grab my bow and head the direction he is going. I draw on him at 60 yards but he busted me drawing and hauls off again. We then head back to the main road thinking its all over. We get back on pavement and low and behold the goat is standing 100 yards or so off the road watching traffic go by. Again I drive by drop my buddy and he makes a stalk towards him which the goat was having none of. I am a good 300 yards from the goat but he is so worried about my buddy he forgets about me so I get to 80 yards when he busts me and turned broadside so I figured now or never. I put my 60 pin 10" over his back and release. He did a mule kick and that feeling when you know it was a lethal shot ran through me. He went about 60 yards or so and was down for the count. Three hours into my 11 year wait for this and it was all over but I wouldn't have it any other way. My buddy had lost sight of me and the goat and had no idea I had shot him. He realized something had happened when he heard hooting and hollering coming from a few hundred yards off.

Got side pics This is about the best side shot I got of him as were in a big hurry to get him caped because it was already 90 degrees out. His cutters are weak and doesn't hook real good but I am very happy with him.

Beautiful goat. I miss hunting those. I grew up in Alamogordo and hunted'em all the time with muzzle loaders and bow. Never took a bow goat. Got several with the muzzle loader. We used to paint refrigerator decoys / goats on refrig boxes and use them to sneak up on the goats. It was a blast. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

I love the image of Clean and Rhyno walking around with fridge boxes on carrying a blackpowder-rifle or bow and actually fooling any animal.
