Apparently, there is a gentleman just west of Ft. Worth that has successfully been raising Moose in Texas!! Never thought I would see this:

Here is a quote from the website:

"Todd has worked extensively with the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota Zoo. These moose have their 5 yr monitoring and accreditation and are CWD free."

I'm guessing he got them through connections with the zoo.

Thought the borders were shut to bringing in deer/elk species.

They are now....but they weren't 5 years ago. Obviously he has had them for at least 5 years if he is CWD accredited.

A couple more pics of them on the facebook page "European Mouflon Sheep Breeders and Fanciers". These are gentle moose, was told the current pair for sale was bottled. Asking $35,000 for the breeding pair.

LOL....funny you say that actually. I've seen two different ranches in Texas that offered Reindeer hunts.

One was The Wildlife Ranch in Mason (which is an absolute JOKE)....and the other was the Clear Springs Ranch in Bandera.

I actually know someone who bought some LARGE "reindeer" and transported them down here.

There's a guy in midlothian that has some kinda Christmas themed business and a sled and he has "Reindeer" in his front yard.

I was told there's a ranch near Pleasanton that raises Elk and ships them to New Mex. and Colorado to private ranches for trophy hunts..same deal...except for a few in a State owned area
in W. Tx..all others are on private ranches..and are owned like
stock...

Harvest me a Texas elk out near Van Horn. Finest eating I've ever had. They gorge on alfalfa raised in the area.
