You fellows ever in Bandera, the Mexican Rest downtown by across from the old Cabret is pretty good..usually can get Huevos Rancheros w/Barbacoa and the fixings w/Tea or Coffee for around $5 or $6 bucks depending on how many extra tortillias one orders and the Barbacoa is really good..DD

Elena's in Farmers Branch. A literal hole-in-the-wall on Valwood, 2 blocks east of 35E, but when you have finished your bacon egg & cheese or chorizo & egg, or potato & egg migas... look me in the eye & tell me you ever had better!!!! Bufford went to Elena's this am, I have to tell you, it was Muy Bueno me Amigo! Worth the 20 + minute drive. Had Huevos ranchero's with Papa & Chorizo fried together on the side. Yepper it was way good!

At my son's house in Tyler this past weekend. Went down the street (north on Rusk) then west on Vine and found a little mexican place that make killer breakfast burritos. I'll try to find the name of the place. Free bean pot with breakfast as well.

I wonder if the Mexican restaurant (real Mexican, not Gringo) place we used to go for migas/breakfast is still across the highway from UT in Austin -don't remember the name n ow. Been 25 years so it's not likely. They had great food and a friendly staff!!...

I always stop at Bad Azz Burrito on Blue Mound, just North of 820 on the way to work. They know exactly what I want and it's very nice. I get a bean, cheese, and egg taco with fresh pico, salsa verde, and a bowl of pickled chiles and carrots on the side for less than 2 bucks. They will make anything you can dream up, and they're fast. Even got a drive through.
Now, for lunch and dinner, you can't beat Casa Lopez in Decatur.

Just got back from Tipico's, ordered the exact same dish as I did from Elenas. Ordered Huevos rancheros with the Potato's & Chorizo cooked together, beans and O.J. I enjoyed my breakfast at Tipico's, but Elenas was definetly better. First picture is Tipico's, second Elenas. Elenas

"Elena's in Farmers Branch. A literal hole-in-the-wall on Valwood, 2 blocks east of 35E" Glad you posted that; I drive close all the time and did not know it was there. I am looking forward to trying it this week. Edit: I figured out where we used to eat breakfast in Austin: Cisco's Restaurant, East 6th St. Seemed good at the time but it's been 25 years... Don't know about these days....

El Rodeo in Lampasas. Migas, Ranchero, revueltas. breakfast Tacos and beans and rice or papas. Very authentic and very Tex-Mex. The other mexican places in Lampasas are garbage.
