I would like to change my answer... creep feed is the best bait for hogs. Killed a lot more in a creep feeder than a deer feeder.

I keep a bucket of fermented corn working and carry some of it to the pasture. Also have a couple of pig pipes with corn. They work great.

The sweeter the smell, the better it is. You can say that about sour as well. Its kind of like throwing a big bowl of candy on the floor in front of a bunch of 4 year olds. It really doesnt matter what it is, they are gonna eat it. You just need something with a strong smell to attract them. Keep in mind that they can smell dry corn. I like to get a 5 gallon bucket and add about a cup of desiel fuel and stir it up for a day or two and then add some strawberry cool aid to it. Works like a charm.

I swiped a package of strawberry jello and a package of yeast powder from the kitchen. The final product stunk like the devil and the hogs love it. My hunters call it pig c***. That pretty well describes it.

on the jello, do you just pour the powder? yes. I like to pour a sack into a good size bucket. fill it up with water then let it sit in the sun for a few days...after that poor the jello in and stir

I've tried vanilla, strawberry, cherry, sour milk, souring the corn and combinations of all the above.
Nothing has worked as good as plain ole corn.

Funny a year or 2 ago there would have been 50 people saying "diesel" I only see one so far.
I never liked that idea, especially since I hunt deer also. I don't want a pig that taste like diesel and don't want to run off deer with the smell of diesel.

You can try all sorts of things and a good many of them work fine. But plain old corn works as good as any. Why waste the time and money on all this other stuff?

Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but I have had very good luck with them hitting feeders almost immediately using the Mummes apple-scented corn. After that, regular old corn works great.
