Ive got an old 6 and 1/2 foot bass buster boat that I dont fish out of anymore. Thinking of converting it into a duck hide. What do yall think, will it be to obviouse? It sits about 18 inches outta the water and my thought was to run some PVC up to put mesh and brush on for blending it in. Think its worth the effort and the money or will it be to obviouse. Gonna lower the seats. I would love some ideas! AB

I've thought about this same thing a few years ago. I changed my mind when I started trying to stand up in the thing and move around.

No more obvious than one that is 15'-20' long, concealment being the key, make it look natural and the birds won't care.

Don't hunt from it. Hide it on the shore, cover with netting and then walk to your hunting spot.

Sounds like a good idea if you want to fall in the lake

Well I started the conversion on Monday night here is the start. Original After a paint job With the PVC, all eventually were cut to the lower level. The PVC will serve as frames to put up either burlap, or Camo netting to weave branches and grass and brush into. For seats, the original seats swivel 360, Im going to cover them with camo covers and mount them to 2x8's that are removable so I can either use it as a one man or a two man. We are planning on shoting sitting down so the top of the netting is going to be just under our shoulders. All that will be exposed is our heads. I have high hopes, will update as I get more done. Any suggestions guys?! AB

Put your seats as low as possible to keep your CG down. A couple brakets on opposite corners would also be nice for stake out poles when in shallow enough water. Looking good so far

Here is my 8' pelican bass raider that I used last season. I fit my layout blind in the middle and could lay down in it, then just sit up and shoot. It worked well, but it was kind of a pain to drive without a seat in it.

Get you a 2x12 to sit on Boss Hog. I have a wooden layout and I use the board for moving or traveling
