Went out to the ranch to make sure things are running ok. Seen a bobcat on trailcam before. I would hope this guy would stick around to take care of the coons..

I've seen some big boar coons that would give him a tussle, but cat should win in the end.

The truth be known, I suspect bobcats are far worse on the rodent population than on deer.

They always get a pass from me, unless I begin to see what I consider too many of them.

My father in law shot one on Friday. If was laying under a broken old truck staying out of the heat. One day I am going to skin one and make a rug.

Thanks, Sapper Titan; great service record. I served in OIF 2003-2004, but didn't make the OEF trip.

I like bobcats too.

I generally hate coyotes but last year they did us a solid by keeping coons away from our feeders. We had tons of coons at them and then over the course of a week or so started getting yote pics and-Voila!- no more coons at our feeders the rest of the year. I was hunting and had a yote come in and station himself in some brush near the feeder completely hidden. They obviously had the drill down pat.

Now I am in a quandary as to whether to shoot them or not...

I'm not sure a bobcat would engage a coon unless it was really hungry.

Much easier food out there.

They are pretty animals. But they don't help the quail or deer populations much.

Bobcats will kill fawns but I don't think that the are near the problem of coyotes. It's a simple matter of population densities coyotes can produce and tolerate much higher densities then bobcats. I also believe that deer make up a much higher proportion of coyotes diet. On the flip side bobcats are harder on birds but not as hard as foxes.

I just don't like cats in general. Probably have to take it out.
