You're a better man than me. It is one thing to try to earn a living...another to try to do it by providing poor service and a poor product. This exactly. My opinion (for what it's worth) is that I would try to keep fellow hunters from being ripped off in a similar fashion. Ethics are ethics, and they are subjective. When money is involved, it had better be right. Anything less, and you are not conducting business, you are donating to charity and reinforcing bad business practice. What a shame.

Ok...I got to ask it....cause I see the same thing over and over and over.....
Did you look at his work? His shop? This guy didnt just start doing crap work.......this is worse than stuff Ive seen on paper forms from the 50's and 60's.
With todays forms and eyes,glues ,tanning, etc....it is almost impossible to do such a crap job...
rip the cape off...find a reputable studio and chalk it up to experience......remount it.

wow i would be very upset but good news is you can have it re done by a real taxidermist and it will look amazing.

Dam... Looks like they used a cone for the head, a cedar post for neck, and like was stated above some cow eyes. I would be beyond pissed. He would be giving me my money back for sure. You hear so many stories like this. Sorry to see someone else get scammed... Dont know where you are from, but if you need a good taxidermist I can put you on mine from Brownwood. He has done some killer work for me and all the others I have seen.

Yessir and sorry for your loss...I will miss my taxidermist when he retires because he is good at what he does and is a great guy too. This feller would not have let your mount leave his business if he cared about what he is doing, so I wouldn't sweat advertising for him...good or bad. I would let him know how disappointing your mount is, the four year wait is unreasonable, and he should refund your money so you can take it to another professional and will need the refund to pay for another cape. Or you can advertise the bad for him for his efforts.

Looks like they used one of those wall mounted "singing deer" thingies and stretched your skin over it.
If it starts singing when your cell phone rings, you will know for sure!
Show this thread to the "quacksidermist" that butchered this mount and let him know you will spread the word - good or bad.
Bottom line: I WANT TO KNOW WHO NOT TO USE.

All guys ragging on the man for not putting the taxis name up here in my opinion are wrong. The work is bad but if you are this guys next customer it's YOUR fault not his. Look at the work of a taxidermist check the prices then decide. If you pay 375 and it takes four years then you get the bath salt deer. Sorry it happened but why would anybody be surprised?
