Last day to hunt in Texas and I tried to talk my clients out of hunting because I couldn't find any ducks, then these ducks showed up

I always end my season with a solo hunt with my lab Earl. Its always a nice way to put the season to rest and I try to make it a good one. Well last season I ended on a great limit. A teal slam and two bull sprigs. On public land for what its worth! Earl is getting older and slowing down but on days like this one he is all business. Good luck on the upcoming season guys!

Here is what a hound looks like after a thousand retrieves in one season. He never jumped in pickup after a hunt till I made him. This last day he had enough and got in on his own free will.

for the spirit of teal season here is another cinny on a great hunt. Couple snipe and a big fluffy wood [censored].

Taken my son last year was one of the best hunts by far. Even tho we left with ducks pouring into the decoys at 7:30, it was the best feeling in the world.



Here's a few other but none topped that morning.

Every season I tell myself to take more pictures during the hunt. Tailgate pictures good because they help you remember what you actually shot but are boring.

Last teal season on the second to the last day I had my best teal hunt ever. We had 5 man limit in like 30 minutes. It was amazing. I had a handful of really good hunts last year...a handful of really slow hunts and lot in between. You never know what's going to happen...skunk one day and limits the next.

With the drought we had last season, had a chance to kill geese. A real nice day. Note to self, remember to charge digital camera batteries before trips.

Tucker's first retrieve on an almost fully functional and pissed off bird. The two went round and round in the water and up onto the bank. Tuck finally pinned him and then rather gently scruffed him like a puppy and trotted back. Kinda funny.
