Who would win in a fight? I'd say a duck hunter. They are more resourceful and the dove hunter would probably be a little intoxicated.

Most of the time they are one in the same. Though you get quite a few folks that make opening weekend dove and deer and call it a year.

not even close.... its like watchin the previews before your movie. dove hunt until its time for ducks. reword the question to "if you could only hunt dove or ducks, which would it be?" that'll give you a more accurate poll.
OMG, this is the best slumber party ever!

I have dove hunted all my life since the 70’s in high school, always loved it always will. This was really the only game I liked to hunt all my life. Had 2 high school buddies always trying to get me to duck hunt, and one that would always say “Guy you need to hunt with us, it is fun, you shoot a duck, it tries to get away, so you have to run after it grab it and ring its neck (and he would demonstrate the cracking noises)”. And I would always say “That does not sound fun to me. ” Another high school buddy finally got me to go in 2003 I was 42 years old and was hooked. But it was not till 2007 I became really passionate about duck hunting. Now, I like to have one good dove hunt'n open weekend, then get ready for early teal, then I get ready for youth waterfowl season, and then regular waterfowl season. Not much more time for dove. Good times, cant wait. I love it Dan is nutz about dove tho.

Dove or duck, that's an easy one. Duck all the way. I dove hunt opening weekend and maybe the 2nd weekend, but that's it.

They both taste like bacon and jalapeño when you're done, I'd call it a draw.

Duck is for sure more of a challenge and more work, and dove is more laid back and less work. So really not a good comparison. But it is off season so carry on...

Duck hunt in the morning.. dove hunt in the evening. Or shoot a limit of ducks then stop at the dove fields on the way home from the bay

There you go again Dan! I never seen anyone more ate up with dove hunting than you, but it is a healthy obsession and you sure put a lot of effort into it.
I personally try to do my best to avoid having to choose between one versus the other so I will have to say both.
I love duck hunting but I don't get too distracted by the early teal season so the overlap is not so bad. I try and hit the dove early and often as possible then focus on the deer vs duck seasons.
You are one dove lovin dude Dan!

It s far away but over here we don t have a dove season. Birds are open here all year but this month they start to fly really well. The fun part is that we are allowed to shoot geese also because we are close to our main national airport.
So yesterday we started at 4.30 shooting geese until 8.30. After the hunt I went home to take a rest for my dog and me. At 14.00 we left to an other place but first it was an hour driving. We enjoyed a verry good late afternoon/evening hunt with 36 dove s and 8 geese.
August 15th is our duck opener so we can add those birds too!
I just love this time, plenty birds, the weather is n t that bad and a reunion each year of hunting buddy s.
But I ll choose ducks too ;O))
