Hey guys, it's time for a new shotgun, I'm looking to get a new Benelli for somewhere around 5-600 and am looking for input from you guys for the best available duck/dove shooter on the market for that price range.

Looks like The nova is a pretty good gun, it will take up the 3 1/2" shells right?

yes it will.
If you are not dead set on a benelli, I would check out a Browning BPS also.

If you are getting a pump there is no reason to go with a Benelli IMO. Benelli semiautos are first rate but when it comes to pumps that are pretty simple I'd just go with what feels best.
If you want a Benelli that is a semiauto you will have to find something used in that price range...but even then you may have a hard time as they keep their value fairly well and if you are looking at say the SBE II you'd be lucky to find a used one under $800.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

x2. Love my Benelli auto but I would not pay for their pump. The BPS is solid.

[12 ga ]I shot Berreta 390 and 391 for 15 years and they are also good guns but the Cordoba is a whole lot better. I go threw 60 or 70 cases a year so I am pretty rough on them.

Had a nova for a few years, then I sold it when I realized there were far better pumps made for around the same price range. Browning BPS is one of them.
Sure it shoots, sure its fat and clunky, sure it will shoot a 3 1/2 inch shell that's overpriced and not needed.
But like I said, there are far better quality pump guns for the same price range.
Dont buy the Benelli name unless its an auto.

Check the Firearms section. Kentucky Native had a M1 Super 90 up for $700 bucks. Doesn't shoot 3 1/2's but still a great gun.
