They way I found out about this place was, some guy called me and said he was a guide there and would let me shoot a mouflon, $500 my choice. Sounded like a heck of a deal.... it wasn't!!!!! I have been trying to go on 2 to 3 hunts a year.
I started using Heath Evans outfitting, that I met on THF, I went on an Axis hunt with Heath and we saw several shooters that were well over 36 inches, but we were chasing one that could go 40 plus. Low fence, rained 6 inches for those 3 days and he did not give up, we hunted sun up till sun down and had several chances to take a nice trophy, but we were after the big one. Already in the works to get back after them in December. 40+ inch free-range Axis....I gotta see this!!

It was a guestamation on that 40 plus but pretty sure that axis could go 40. One we turned down was shot the next morning by another hunter was 36 3/4. Heath posted a pic of it on here.

Ive seen the pics from Heaths place and I would for sure say theres on in the pics thatn would scare the he$$ out of 40" and some other giants

Got any pics? Are the fairways and greens still maintained so you could at least get a round in between herdings? Ha! That was a good one!

That would be a heck of a Axis.
I killed a couple nice mouflon rams (one being 24 1/2" beam length) two years ago on my low fence lease in Fredericksburg. We have a ton of them running around that place. We shoot as many as we can.......

Lmao they have nanny goats at west Texas adventures for $50. From the pics most exotics seem to not be in the most trim healthy condition.

I'm not sure what you were expecting from a high fence hunt in Brownfield, but the old golf course is as good as it gets. Your alternatives would be a plowed field or a caliche pit.
If you're interested in a HF rodent hunt, I believe Mackenzie Park still has a 2 foot wall around Prairie Dog town.

Guys I will promise one thing before this year is over somebody that hunts with me will harvest a 40" Axis. We can shoot 34 to 38inchers all day but there are some 40" axis on one of my ranches and those you dont see everyday. And yes they are free ranging. I have been in the hunting industry for 17yrs and this ranch has some of the biggest Axis on it that I have ever seen.
