I don't do pics of dead hogs. But I did keep a record book with numbers in it.

I do both when ridding a place of hogs. I don't care how they die just that they die.

That's why you can shoot them with a .22...you can walk right up and pop em in the head at point blank range

I always carry a .22 mag with me and grab it first when shooting at something close. Then if a little longer shot I grab the .223. I use a .22 pistol for trap shots.

confused2 That is what I said

You use the .22 for trap shots and the .223 for when they are at about 50 yards

Nope those are your words not mine. To those folks they are trophies. I just don't view hogs the same as some. I do not care for them and do everything I can to rid a place of them.

Nope I will use the .22 mag out to about 100 yds on hogs and coyotes when I can. Then over that I use the .223. If I am hunting in deer season then I will have my .223 and .270 so I use what is handiest depending on the shot.

kmon 1 when I am hunting by myself I usually don't take pics of bucks with me in the pic either. That is why I have them mounted.

I like the .223, but think a mag would have a tough time killing one without a dang good placed shot. I have seen jackrabbits run after being hit with a mag.

Understand that, Sometimes I take a pic of the buck with the gun but very seldom have one with me in the pic. The size bucks you have posted pics of I would need another wall to have them mounted as well

That would be difficult to do. Did see one fella on her that did it with his game camera...pretty creative.

I don't think they think they are all trophies. They just like sharing and enjoy what they do.

no, the 06 would DRT them in the head, neck, shoulder, behind the shoulder and once it knocked down two at the same time.

my first hunt with the 6.8, i put one in his neck (spine line) and he dropped like a stone but seconds later, he got up and headed for the bush. i got off a second shot but the dust made it hard to see. i have since added a more powerful scope and plan to stick it in their ear.

I don't think they think they are all trophies. They just like sharing and enjoy what they do.

I also like looking at other pics on here of them also. Especially for those guys who take the time and effort to post up as story with the pics. What I think is a trophy or not does not effect how I treat what someone else views of what they take. I just don't take the time to take pics of hogs, coyotes, bobcat, does, culls etc for the most part.

My wife uses FMJ .223 out of a RRA varmint and she dropped a 140ish pound sow at 130 yds. . . right in the chest.

I shoot a 243 and have not had a hog ever run more than 20 yards! Put and caliber behind the ear and they will drop, its not the caliber its the accuracy!
