Never had any complain, well maybe a little, but they died shortly after.

I use an AK (7.62 x 39mm) and it does just fine. My bolt action rifles just didn't throw out enough lead fast enough.

.223, 300 Blackout, 7.62x39 in AR and SKS, 7.62x54r in Mosin, 308 in Winchester 100...etc.

The 300 Blackout is my current "flavour of the month" and is 7 for 7 on pigs this year with only one walkoff and he only made it 15 feet!

I'm working up a 7.62x39 AR as I type this and this shows great promise as a pig gun and is surprisingly accurate with the 4.99 a box Monarch FMJ. I've installed a 3-12 power scope to see just how accurate it will get. Bullets and new Winchester brass will be here from Midway today...
But then again, it hovers right around an inch MOA at 100 now with the cheap stuff so it could go hunting today.

With a rifle primarily a 243, 223, & 17 HMR. They all do exactly the same job if you shoot them in the head or neck. I've been really surprised with the 17.

Tannerite...shot with a 223......

But probably not....my neighbours already love me for shooting pigs at night....tannerite after midnight would probably kick that up a notch..or three...LOL!

Have used 17HMR plus 22 Short up to 45-70 and about every diameter bullet inbetween, stuffed into some sort of brass. Haven't tried the 50BMG yet on hogs but it needs to kill something. For the last 5 or more years if not deer season then the 357Mag carbine goes after the hogs most of the time.

If that is the case, what couldn't you hunt with a .243?

I think, can't use 243 for the most birds, :)), can't get anything after.

no after the shot blood tracking required. i started with the 30-06 federal 165 grain triple shock and then went to the 6.8. my shooting lanes are narrow and heavy, heavy brush around them. i have found with the 6.8 that the shot placement has to be more on place than the 30-06. i might go back to the 30-06 for the narrow lanes but use the 6.8 for more open areas where a second or even a third shot can be taken.

So they drop in their tracks with a .243 or .223 and they run when hit with an 06 scratch

dunce No glasses for me and I am over 6' tall so I don't need a 300 wm either like some of the "East" fellars do to kill hogs. I will stack my hog kills up with both of yours anyday. duel

Just because you have had SOOOOOOOOOOOOO long to build that stack up, it doesn't mean that you are better.
