I have a bunch of photos to post from my Spring Break catfishing trips. Thought I'd share the biggest catch of the week. Customers caught and released this one Friday morning.

Spring time catfishing is in full swing and my dates are filling in fast. Customer are catching good numbers of quality blue cats and some hybrids. They have also been catching some really nice trophy class blue cats on just about every trip. Here are some photos from this past week.

I took the family out for our son's birtday on 3/15/12. We fished for about 4 hours and put 34 in the box and released one that Trip caught that weighed 25 lbs. That 5 year old boy did an outstanding job landing such a big fish. For some strange reason I still have Sunday, April 1st available. Call, PM or email me to book your trip today!

Here are a few more from Friday's Trip. Ed and Crystal caught and release between 50 and 60 blues in just 5 hours of non-stop catfish catching action. Here are some pics of their bigger fish landed during their guided catfishing trip on Lake Lewisville.

Ya'all want to catch catfish, Bobby's the man. He put my FIL and I on approximately 150lbs (live) of bluecats (42 Fish) biggest was 17 lbs. 3 1/2 gallons of fillets. Great trip, you will have a ball.

The spring time blue cat bite is in full swing. Customer are catching amazing numbers of eating size blue cats and a trophy or two each time out. All fish caught on rod and reel. No trotlines, no jug lines, no limb lines and no noodling. I have plenty of weekdays and only a few weekends available through the end of May. Big shout out to Bobby's Catfishing. Team Backwoods Tactical went out on lake Lewisville this past Saturday. We caught 83 fish in 5 hours with 75 keepers. He put us right on the fish, gave us tips on how to catch them, cleaned them, and generaly helped us have a great time on the lake. Alot of guides are kind of quiet and keep their distance but not Bobby, he was right in the middle of everything joking and telling stories right along with us. I dont think I've ever had that much fun on any fishing trip and can't wait to go again.

April Fool's Day Catfishing - 2012

The numbers were down a bit but customers caught some quality fish. Big fish went 34 lbs! I still have some weekdays open for April, and a couple of weekends for May and plenty of weekdays left as well. Give me a call, PM or email me to get your trip set up.

The blue cat bite is still on fire! Customers are catching excellent numbers of eating size blue cats and still getting their arms stretched one some trophy fish as well. Now is the time to fill the freezer with a bunch of tasty blue cat fillets. Here are some photos from this past week. I still have some dates available for April and May is filling in quickly.

25 fish limit in a little over 3 hours. Catch and release the rest of the day.


4/7/12:
Catch and release trip. Customers landed 68 blue cats in 5 hours.

4/9/12:
36 blue cat and a hybrid in 5 hours.

4/12/12:
These fellas pounded out a 50 fish limit of blues in just 3 hours of non-stop, fish catching action! At one point we had 5 fish laying in the floor of the boat and all three of us had a fish on at the same time. They also landed a couple of nice hybrids.

4/13/12:

Tony and Brian came all the way down from Bentonville, Arkansas to get a taste of some Texas Style Catfishing. They took home their 50 fish limit of blues, a nice flathead and a hybrid. Their full-day trip produced about 70 fish total. I still have plenty of dates available in May for blue cat and channel cat trips on either Lake Lewisville or Grapevine. Had to rescedule Saturday's trip due to the strong winds and unsafe conditions on the lake. Sunday's trip was rescheduled due to the thunderstorms and lightening. Fished yesterday morning for a half-day channel cat trip. Customers put 50 fish in the box. The channel cats typicall run a lot smaller in size than the blue cats. We also target them differently with different baits and lighter gear. Here's a photo of their catch.

4/21/12: 25 fish limit




4/22/12: 38 blue cats up to 30 lbs. along with a couple of hybrids and about a dozen sandbass.

Photos from a 5-hour trip on Friday April 20th. Big fish went 20 lbs.

5 hour trips are $250 for up to 2 people
8 hour trips are $350 for up to 2 people
$75 for each additional adult and $50 for kids 16 and under.

Fishing or maybe we should call it "catching" doesn't get much better than this. My customers caught a little over 700 lbs of fish in three trips this week. That's only 15 hours of fishing!

Just let me know when you guys are ready to get back out there. We're trying to wrap up T-Ball and Softball as well. It's been a BUSY spring for everyone in the Kubin house.
