Why can't HiPoint make their pistols look normal though? They look like akward, heavy, and crude.

Glock, Springfield, Kimber, and Ruger pay them not to.

I've owned one for a few years. Ugly as sin but never had any problems with it. Love it as a pickup gun because it's never failed me and it won't hurt the wallet too bad if my truck gets broken into again and it gets stolen.

I've never owned one of their pistols, but the their carbines (9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP) are accurate and reliable.

I had one of the 9mm pistols for a while, bought it on a whim to keep in the tacklebox for snakes and such but sold it not to long ago. I only had 100 or so rounds down the pipe but never had a problem. For me I couldn't see any other use for it besides tacklebox/truck gun, it was just to uncomfortable to carry and shoot. With that said it fit that bill perfectly and I kinda wish I hand't sold it. Never shot the carbine but I wouldn't mind having one in 45acp or 40s&w for the same purpose. If your like me and have other guns and want something for the lease or whatever or your "frugal" I would buy another one but if it's someones first firearm then save for something more comfortable to shoot.

I sold guns at a shop for a couple of years and I've shot many different pistols. I dont like the feel of them, way too top heavy. Are they ugly yeah, are they heavy yeah, are they reliable seems to be.

IMO the bottom line is you tend to get what you pay for. That being said if you own one and you've never had a problem with it thats great and I bet they make perfect truck guns, but if you own one and you only paid $175 for it and it shoots like crap or you have problems you cant really complain.

Photo made me think I was looking at a Ruger LCP that I own.
