I've seen some cool looking hybrid ducks over the years like a mallard/pintail. I was shown a picture this weekend of a Mallard/Widgeon that was harvested this past season, what a cool looking combo!

Northern shovelers.

Cheasapeake: Am I correct on the assumption that the first bird with the band is the mallard mottle? Where was it banded?
And no clue on the gaddy. LOL.

Cheasapeake - I killed a gadwall this year that looked JUST like that one - I just thought it was a really mature drake with that mohawk on the top!
What do you think it is?!

The first one is a mottled duck x mallard. Probably a mottled duck got into a park and found a mallard. Bird was banded around san luis pass (Galveston area).

Thats cool. I know some people that have shot banded mottleds that were banded around the Anuhak(sp?) mcfadden area and I was courious if it came from out that way. Its a really cool bird.
Ill be at the San Louis Pass this weekend. I'll have to take a camera and see if I can find some of its nest mates. lol

Cool Teal! Would be bad arse if it had the white crescent. But when dealing with hybrids you can't be picky

Not really a hybrid but I shot this hen redhead last November outside of Portland. She appears to be piebald. I've shot plenty of the redhead hens with the speckled heads but this one has pure white patches all over her including her head and breast. Whatever the cause it made a very cool mount. I have a diver deadstrap she ended up on.

Never got a cross but have shot two hen woodducks with drake bills Those are just first year drakes. They don't usually have full color and a lot even look like hens.
I'm with GK because I like salty old dudes.

I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.
