Be careful towing it backwards. Make sure you tie down everything as these carts weren't designed to be towed at high speeds much, especially not facing backwards.
If you ever plan on a windshield I would recommend not towing backwards at all or better yet, remove it when trailering.
Refurb looks good by the way. When is the lift coming?

Nice job on your cart project.
It looks to be the same model that I bought earlier this year for the lease.
The gun rack is something I would like to add to mine. Would you mind sharing the e-bay vendor with me (unless it was a private individual selling a "one of")?

With new batteries and a full charge I've run as much as 5 or more miles on the beach in Port A. This includes hard pack sand and soft, loose, boggy sand.
I've never run out of juice. Of course I plug in to charge every time I get back to camp. Then charge overnight too.

You should be able to get 8-10 miles a day with good batteries
The golf courses have them run about 36 holes a day !
As long as it gets us from the truck to the dove fields or to the deer blind and back quietly we will be happy

Looking good Dan! Lots of nice carts posted up Picked mine up last year a week before the season from a fellow THFer, love it! Put a cargo rack on it Gun rack A little paint and a cover Need to get some new batteies, mine are not the strongest, but we haven't been stranded. This year to do list: new tires and rims, upgraded wires, batteries, heavy duty FNR, front end clip, and some lights Oh, and it works just fine for what we wanted

Its the best hunting vehicle IMO. I think the upgraded controller and wires is a must though. I have rolled up on several deer last season and they just stared at me and had no clue what I was....I got within 20 yards of a doe and fawn until they just walked away; they still couldn't figure out what I was rolling with no sound!

I guess my questions would be:
Where is the best place to buy the flip back seats?
Who makes the front rack / grill guard?
What lifts are the best bang for buck?

I ebayed the flip flop seats and the front rack/grill guard. I just got one of the cheaper ones. I tried to get a flip flop seat that had the reinforcement arm on the back. (added support when tailgate is down) I ordered black fabric as well and re-upholstered all the seats myself (it was easy, just ripped off the old and re-stapled the new black seats on) The front rack/grill guard has alot of options. If I had to do it over again, I would have gotten the one that has the winch mount already built in; that way you can put a hitch with a road feeder in it! My lift was allsports brand (I think thats right?) It came as a package, wheels, tires, and lift all included in one price. I ebayed that as well. If you are serious about a buggy flip go to www.buggiesgonewild.com I searched that site for everything. Those guys on that site actually go WAY OVERKILL on some stuff, but you can get a ton of ideas. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions...

Like I stated earlier, upgrading your controller is a must IMO. I can go up hills , hual 3-4 big guys, and still fly in the cart! I got it up to 25 mph in my neighborhood and had to slam the brakes. I have the Alltrax 400 controller and upgraded to 4G Wires compared to the smaller 6G that are on it factory. Go to the this guys website. His handle on the buggies forum is scottyb. He is practically a legend on that forum, extremely nice guy. He can program your controller before he ships it. If you go up hills, etc he can controll it different (power vs. torque vs. etc...) Here is his website http://www.cartsunlimited.net/

The front cargo rack is nice also; I'm thinking of adding another cargo rack that faces inward. Theres always a need for an extra place to put a hunting bag.
Another thing that comes in handy is the battery operated dome light (you can see it in the pictures on the inside of the roof).
I plan on getting a roof cargo rack and wiring up 4 red filtered lights on top and two rear KC lights and two side KC lights all ran on seperate switches to my deep cycle 12volt battery. I will look like a spaceship going down my trails!
When I'm hunting hogs I'll switch over to my 4 red lights only!

Nope. But it will reduceor eliminate the amount of air that escapes your tires!

Well, if this is the braggin' thread... I built this cart for my dad out of a $400 initial purchase. The red lights are stop/tail lights that I took out of my headache rack when I upgraded to LEDs. When they go out, I'll upgrade them to LEDs as well, as the light output and life expectancy greatly justify the cost. They're mounted on brackets that you can get from etrailer for about 4 bucks a piece with the rubber grommet. I wired the reds and the whites to two relays controlled by a three way marine switch, like you'd use for anchor/nav lights. I've rolled up within 15 yards of deer at night with the red lights on, and we use it constantly to run the feeders at night looking for hogs. The red lights put out plenty of light to see your way, not so much that it's really noticeable, and doesn't mess up your night vision at all. Of course, there's a cigarette lighter plug for spotlights in the dash, next to the AM/FM/CD player, with two 6.5 speakers mounted on the roof frame up behind your head, since you don't have to be quiet all the time. The gun rack is mounted to the bag holder frame on the back, and the basket behind the seat holds a 12v RV water pump for washing up during field dressing. He's now got camo seat covers since that pic was taken. I'll have to get an updated pic next time we're out there.

Yes, 36 volts. I tapped two batteries (6v each) to power the lights/radio/etc. Every so often, I change which two batteries I use, so I'm not drawing extra current from the same ones all the time. It helps with the longevity of the batteries doing it that way. Not a lot, but at a hundred bucks a battery, every little bit helps.
We only really run the red lights very often, and they draw very little power. The LED ones I'll replace these with draw even less.

Here is a pic of my cart..... I bought it from an apartment complex for $250.00 it is a 1993 EZGO Marathon 36 volt series cart. I put a 6" Jakes lift front and rear, new front springs and shocks, new rear shocks, new brakes, camo wrap, camo seat covers, trimed the fenders, torque 4:1 motor, 500 amp alltrax controller, 4 guage wires, new batteries, hd solenoid, hd forward/ reverse switch, gun rack, reciever hitch, it has wheels and tires from a bad boy buggie. I can now pull the front end on flat ground and when getting on the trailer got to be real careful. it will only go 13 miles an hour but will pull the pickup. all torque!!!

I need to get one of those fold down seats. Here is my cart that has done everything I have asked of it. There was also 2 squares of alfalfa before I this pic was taken. It is only 36 volt but it is the perfect speed for Rocksprings.
