I actually think the middle is a good spot for the dog door. Even if your dog heels on the right or left, dog will go in the middle, and you sit on either side of the dog, depending on your preference. If you stick the door on one side, you mght limit yourself if you ever hunt with a dog that must sit on the other side. My dog sits on my left, but I been teaching my dog to hold steady no matter where she is, some times I stick my dog in a spot 10 yards or so away from me, just so she has better cover. So my dog would do fine in that blind, with me sitting anywhere. You might want to also think about 2 dog doors, incase you got 2 dogs you want to hunt with. But I would put the dog doors such that there is room to set on either side of the dog if you know what I mean. Just more things for ya to consider.

Spanky,

I'm in the process of designing one myself. Instead of making the folddown section on the front of yours out of wood, check out this one made of Cattle Panel.

I will probably combine the two with one made on skids like this one.

We have several, used to be nice, blinds on our lease that have been dry the last four years. I want one I can move near the water when times are dry. I figure skids will work best for that. I may even build two and put them back to back on a little peninsula we have on our big tank.

Yep the Teal lite hard on the right side so I'm 6'5" and if possible I'll cover that end of the blind also. LOL

Chops, nails and 3 1/2" shells.

if you look at the missouri out back link above i like how it slants over the shelf. the shelf is covered up and it wont get in the way as you stand up

I like that feature a lot, but I don't think I'll make mine as deep. I'm looking for something that will fit into the back of a pick up truck so I can hall it away.

Some things have changed to the plans and a new set of revised plans with a animated video of the entire blind closing up to be completely waterproof will be posted shortly!

This is pretty fun, maybe I should make a ton of different designs and sell them on the internet! lol
