Probably some chick on spring break. Maybe a college student or teacher. With a smart phone these days and GPS software you can cross country hike and make a shortcut for yourself. Since she is wearing a jacket around her waist, she probably started early and was trying to shortcut back. Easy to get lost and turned around in that cedar country. Happened to me once on a cloudy day. Had to walk till I found a fenceline then follow it back. Pain in the backside for sure.

My concern is I shoot (allot) on my property so I have posted no trespassing around the property line. It would be an accident waiting to happen if there were a trespasser on my property. So yea, in my little world it is a big deal.

Second: In today's litigious world do you think the land owner would be sued if she happened to injure herself on his property? My bet is yes, but I'm a little pragmatic like that.

So to cover one's back side report it, and make it a matter of record. It sucks, but that is the world we live in, ignore it at one's own peril.

Doesn't matter to me what she was doing. The fact is that she was doing it illegally by trespassing on private property. She wasn't invited there and as far as we know right now had no legal reason to be there.

To me the matter of intent should be considered here. If she got lost and was trying to find her way back to civilization, I wouldn't care if she crossed my land. If she came back and brought all her friends, I would mind.

True, I know who she is now just waiting to talk to her about it. She may be turned around but lost from civilization is a pretty far stretch. I'm sure she was just out looking around but we'll see.

I don't own much land but I'm pretty prickly about surprises and I do not like intruders, period. There has been a lot of respect lost for property rights and people need to keep themselves on public access or their own property.
