I really should call and get current pricing, but those prices were quoted by both of the stations in Mason County. After seeing your post it makes me think that different counties, due to supply, may have different pricing, maybe.

Maybe the buying station locations are a reflection of wild hog population distribution?
What area inside Texas tends to have more wild pigs?

Thanks for the update. I had heard prices had dropped. I guess the stronger dollar is having an effect.

Are you buying dead hogs too? I know there's a place in Hubbard buying them @.40 a pound gutted with heart and liver intact.

Curious as to what the buyers do with the hogs? There are at least a couple of places in Texas that deal with live feral pigs. They process the meat and package it for sale. It's my understanding that the largest market is Europe, where 'wild boar' is commonly eaten. That's probably why the prices have dropped recently. The dollar has strengthened in the last six months or so, making USA exports more expensive. They're having to lower the price to remain competitive.
