Man I didn't know if you owned up to something it was OK to have done it in the 1st place. I could have gotten out of having to pay a Speeding ticket back in my younger days. Well I messed up can I go now. Hey I shot a monster deer on your place can I lease it now? I've been hunting for days and this was the biggest deer I seen in my life so I killed it. He just took something that he had no right to take. He wasn't a legal hunter
I have always gotten my Combo License the first day I could after the new ones were available whether or not mine were expired yet.

You must of read my first post on this thread. After I wrote it, I thought about what I wrote and my honest opinion is on my second post. I feel that the guy got caught up in a web of lies and when confronted by the game official, he "turned himself in". You are correct, he broke the law and should "pay the piper" for his idiocy!!!

He didn't turn himself in! He simply owned up when he was cornered with the truth.
Turning himself in would have been calling the Game Warden as soon as he realized he had no license and tags, not waiting for the Badge and GUN to show up at his fron door.
Ethics- Is when you do what is right (legal) when you are alone, and no likely to be caught doing otherwise.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

The guy is a poacher plain and simple, but got caught, and took the easiest way out that he saw possible, and that was to play dumb when he got confronted.
He was poaching, and killed a buck that he knew there was no way to keep it quiet, and couldn't stand not to brag, so that's the only reason he owned up to it.
Treat him like the poacher he is!
Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

That's a tremendous buck !! It's demise would have been a wonderful hunting story had it been taken legally.
