Have any of you shot this ammo? if so, is it any good? the price looks ok for plinking ammo. i need HP's as that is what my local range requires and I will be shooting it through an AR.

i'll check out ammo to go next. i'd rather use Remington etc but the cost of wolf is certainly a factor.....another question....wolf or brown/silver bear? any real difference in those two brands?

Brown bear has a lacquer coating on the case that can leave a sticky residue in your chamber after it gets good and hot. Silver Bear does not have the coating. All three are cheap, Russian made, steel case ammo.

Just noticed that you are in Allen. You can get this ammo locally at Cheaper Than Dirt in McKinney. I got the Silver Bear, 62 grain HP last week and I think they were $139 for 500...or somewhere in there.

Wolf, Brown bear, and silver bear are all made by the same manufacturer: Barnaul

I've had nothing but good results from their ammo. Dont expect great accuarcy, its not match ammo. Although i was suprised how well Wolf 75gr HP shot out of my BCM.

You should be good to go. I would trust the Barnaul stuff more then Remington UMC any day of the week.

JM sells lots of it at the Bandera Gun Club..for the bangers..most folks just want to shoot and are not concerned with
groups or targets, except to put holes in m...DD

Yep! Box says FMJ and the little chart says FMJ but the description says HP. I bet its FMJ based on what the box says.

The poly coated steel case ammo is much better than the lacquer coated stuff. Don't seem to gum up the chamber and cause malfunctions.

Are those 55 grain? Have you shot any of them? Let me know how they shoot. I have heard mixed reports on the TulAmmo.

I couldnt use silver bear in the two ARs i had. My extractors ripped the rims off trying to eject the round. Also did the same with my friends two ARs and his Mini 14. No one else seemed to have this problem though, so i think we just got a bad batch of cases. I think barnual makes good cheap ammo, just have to clean ur guns a little more often.

I went through 500 rounds of the WPA military classic last year, no problem in any of my three ARs. Good plinking ammo in my experience.

I've shot the 55 gr Silver Bear out of my AR and obtained 2" groups at 100 yards. Considering the cost of the ammo, I was very happy. No problems what so ever.
