Krebs are king but you'll pay a lot more than 750. I'll still keep my two Valmet M76's. The Finns got it right the first time.

On what the milled or 1.6 stamped? I agree on the quality issues re:the milled receivers. Those norinco's are that expensive because they are collectible. It really has nothing to do with the overall quality. There is a limited number in the US and demand is high. A true collector of AK's will see the value there.

Only in the US can companies make a Frankenstein, semi-auto version of the most widely produced firearm in history, mark it up and convince American's that "they really need this AK clone".
I know acquiring authentic, modern Russian fire arms is extremely hard, and probably illegal, but still, the concept it amusing. We are paying hundreds, and in some peoples cases, thousands of dollars for a gun that has been manufactured an estimated 200 million times and can probably be bought for a piece of string in some countries....
I own a saiga, and like it a lot, so I'm not trying to knock anyone, but I think it's pretty funny how we obsess over what we can't have.

Yep crazy how they have gone up over the years but I guess that's inflation too. In the 90's an SKS was $99 all day long at the gun show and a MAK 90 was $250.

Shoot, the really fun days were another 10 years perviously. In the 80's you could buy the real things - HK's, Chinese AK's, Colt AR's for $300-400. I miss those days. Shoot I even managed to buy a NIB HK94 for $400 in '84 or '85 while I was in college. Can you imagine a kid in college today spending $4k for one? Those were the days when I bought my first AKs. Chinese Norinco Type 56S for $299.. Earl Yep crazy how they have gone up over the years but I guess that's inflation too. But to answer the orig post I would assume the most desirable and hardest to find would be a chinese preban orig double under folder.

Definitely are easy to sell and if you are patient can be found for not alot more than a standard underfolder. The red bakelite side folders are actually much more rare than those. The rarest of them all has wood grips and handguards and a metal galil style side folding stock. They were made by factory 386 as a trial for Kengs to see how well they would sell. If memory serves me right there are only around 600 of these.
