Not a bad day, I was given 2 cases of .410 shells by a friend about two weeks ago during a hunt because they ran out of shells and I basically said they could grab all they wanted of my shells..... when we got back to the truck, he threw the 2 cases in my truck without me looking...... Soooooo decided to use them today....

total was 39 ducks, which is pretty good for a solo hunt.....

Was driving out and saw this..... after a chinese fire drill, got out and shot him..

Where in the world did you find 410 mag shells in non-toxic shot?

Reason asking, is I just had a pacemaker put in and that gauge or cartridge may be the only one I will be allowed to use from now on using a shotgun. Recoil will be the determininig factor once I see my cardiologist next week on what I will be able to shoot.

Pintail, all three kinds of teal, gadwall, widgeon, mexican ducks, spoonies these are our main ones.

We also shoot a few ringnecks, redheads, wood ducks, ruddy ducks, and a couple of everything else sporadically, but no mallards...

We get to shoot untill the first sunday of march...

JJ, let me know if you want to do that .410 hunt. I'd be in, could offer one of my close quarter holes if the birds are in.

Very nice hunt. I'd like to hunt in mexico. Hopefully I'll be hunting the Devil's River and Lake Amistad again this fall. Hey is there a comparable gov't entity in Mexico to TPWD or FWS? Does anyone know where to find the mexican internet? I speak enough spanish to give it a whirl.

you have to pay for the mexican internet in pesos...sometimes you can catch a special where they will take 3 tacos for a 6 month subscription, but they dont run that real often.

.410 hunts are very fun. We did one season before last. The most fun I can remember having on a hunt in a while. Birds were tight and it was no problem killing them. We shot 3 limits. I was impressed with the effective range of the .410. We planned to do another this past season, but never got around to it.

However, 39 birds with 2 cases??????? DANG! Stick to the 12ga. grin

What a dust up...I think the state internet game wardens just called the fed internet game wardens and they called the internet Mexican cartel game wardens.

Well of course the range is going to be determined by the FPS not the gauge you use. The pattern size and density would be the limiting factors.

I'm having no luck finding the mexican internet. Someone throw me a bone. I'm sure it's out there, working very hard no doubt. But I have a funny feeling something illegal is going on.

I actually was not trying to imply anything was illegal regarding your hunt. Never crossed my mind. I speak some spanish, and have never tried to google anything in spanish or use the mexican version of the internet. I was wondering if there is a Mexican DU site, etc.
