Looks like you are in Rockwall, Morgan on this forum (DallasShootingSupplies) is in Rowlett and does transfers for $10. You won't beat that.

I just don't understand all the hate on the PC lowers. I have one, i switch it around on my .22lr upper, 5.56 upper, and 300blk upper. I have NEVER had a problem with mine. For any of you that don't think it is a "real" lower, I would love to go shoot with you so that you can get a first hand account of what they are really like, instead of reading a bunch of tactical wannabes opinions on arfcom.

I've got 2 of them. hundreds of rounds through both, never an issue.

I have to wear sunglasses into the woods, because the deer would recognize me, an just surrender with their hooves up.

I've held one. I almost bought one. I just thought that in the end it wasn't worth the risk of getting a "bad one." My whole point, since it seems you can't read, is that for only a small amount of more money, you can get a real milspec lower. It will hold value better as well. So in the long run a PC lower costs you more than a PSA lower. It's just good sense.

Also, there's no hate here. Even if it works just as well, the resale value is worth it in itself. Now if a PC lower was $75 complete, thats a different story. IMO they are way overpriced. I was just giving my reason for why I don't think its a good buy. It was all about marginal cost to me. Has nothing to do with functionality.

I have one and it has always worked fine. It was my only lower for a while, now it makes a great backup to my Spikes.

I will say that it does not make for a good handling weapon off hand when paired with a longer bull barrel (ie a heavy upper). It makes the rear of the weapon to light compared to the front and it is harder to hold steady that way.

First off, please don't think my post was directed towards you. I don't do personal attacks. I prefer intelligent conversation with some facts behind them, not opinions read on the internet.(not aimed at your post, but the AR15.com guys that haven't even been in the same room that have deemed it not "combat" worthy.) I think you have a valid point on re-sale value. I didn't buy mine to resell. I have built two aluminum lowers and added a PC to round off my .22lr upper. If value is all your after, by all means, build a aluminum lower. The PC lower is a strong well built lower that costs less than others on the market. Doesn't make it any less quality.

if it can hold up to a 50bmg then that's all the proof I need.

I think they are an interesting product and serve a place in the gun market, that said I have first hand seen one blow up. Buddy bought one for 130 and slapped his orc 16 carbine upper on it. We were having fun blasting for the better part of the day around round 400 and somthing he pulled the trigger and the gun sounded a lot louder than normal. The bolt shot back into the buffer tube it cracked the whole rear end off of the receiver and gave his face a pretty good punch and burn as well. No one was hurt and pc did replace the lower. Lesson I took from this is they are a lot like kel tec pistols, they work great and have there place they are not made to be high round count range guns. Ill see if i can find the pics or if he still has them we only snapped a couple.

What happened to us may be a 1 in a million chance but i saw it first hand and that is why I probably wont buy one of these at least not for anything bigger than a 22lr. Also we were running xm855 penetrators maybe that had something to do with it.

What happened to your buddy was probably the result of a bad casting on the lower. Did he contact PC?

This one instance in itself is a great example of why it's just not a good idea to buy a PC lower. I have never heard of such a thing happening with an aluminum forged lower. I just don't get the idea behind risking yourself and your property to save a few bucks.

Nothing wrong with the functional basis of the receiver. I just don't want a rifle with "Plum Crazy" on the side of it.
