That list isn't even close to being right. I've called three on the list and they are not in business anymore

Google " TAHC Feral Hog Buying Stations Texas".
This is only a list of who is still current with their permitting (2 years). Its accurate within the last 60 days of permitted facilities. A few have ceased for one reason or another. Some are private facilities and do not buy or accept animals from the general public.
Its always best to call and find out days open, hours of operation, and terms of acceptance.
PRIVATELY OWNED TAHC permitted feral swine holding facility. Serving Gulf Coast and South Texas ranchers, farmers, hunters, and residents with abatement. Disposal, Traps and in-field pick-up service available.

So, you catch them and sell them live? Or are they buying dead Hogs? Unfortunately, we are not allowed to transport a Feral Hog. There has supposedly been a lot of Dog Hunters spreading the Hogs across the State so they can hunt them.

So, you catch them and sell them live? Or are they buying dead Hogs? Unfortunately, we are not allowed to transport a Feral Hog. There has supposedly been a lot of Dog Hunters spreading the Hogs across the State so they can hunt them. Yes, they are purchased alive. Dead animals are not allowed in any buying facilities and those that die have to be disposed of in accordance with the local County Health Departments rules and standards. When you say that you are "unfortunate" in not being able to transport animals, that really depends on how you look at it. The problem we have here in Texas has been caused by a multitude of issues, including, but not limited to the transport and release of animals from one location to another. Dog hunters get the blame for the releasing quite a bit, but I don't think they scratch the surface. Its alot of work to catch an animal and contain it alive for releasing without any assurances of ever seeing that animal again. That is unless you have a facility designed for containment. Individuals that sell to people thinking they can raise them to the quality of domestic pork or to those that have the misconception that they can release these animals on a small piece of property and contain them for sport. These are the people that have no idea as to the repercussions of their actions. I know the State is stepping up the efforts to stop this, but their resources are limited compared to the number of individuals breaking the law. Just my .02 on what really started the snowball rolling. BK

kyotee1 is correct. You may only transport living feral hogs to an approved TAHC holding facility. You can only hold your catch for 48 hours. You may not release them after that time, they will have to be destroyed.

Thanks for the info! Not bad on pricing! I was invited to go hog hunting, now I know what to do with the big ones I take down, no way I'm eating the greasy bigguns.
