Look up Monarch feeders in Arlington. They make solid feeders that last a long time. They take a good beating, too. Their timers are easy to use and work very well. I will only buy these feeders.

Get a 55 gallon barrel(you can buy them cheap 7.00 to 15.00) - buy a motor ,buy " The Timer" hook it all up ,buy yourself 3 T-post to stake the legs down with, for your varmint cage -buy some rabbit cage wire, this set up will hold 300 lbs of corn- put your timer on 7 seconds, once in morning and once in evening - walk away, your done.
Buy yourself some square tubing for the legs- done deal, 200.00 at most.

Ramsey. I picked up some seed yesterday at bass pro. I'm going to get enough to do 5-7 acres all together. Looking for a non resale price first though.
I like the one the first guy posted. The capsule I think. It looks bear proof. we need that. Also looks like a $1000 feeder though.
I still think that running a pole between a couple of the pines and then hanging a pully, boat winch, and feeder will get us to where we need to be.
My feeder at the middle valley got trashed a couple weekends ago. I'm going to rebuild it to hang from one of those big trees. I'm tired of our feeders getting trashed. Food plots should help a lot this year also.

The Capsule Feeder is a novel idea. Got a question for those of you that use them...if you don't have a feeding tray, does the corn just dribble down the side of the feeder onto the ground or does it broadcast it a few feet?

Lots of good feeders on the market. Monark products makes some pretty decent stuff for the price. However, last year I bought a feeder from some guys here on the forum (FeederGuys) who make them here in the DFW area.
It is an AWESOME feeder - in fact, I am going to be buy two more this year. The are stand feeders, but use 4 legs rather than three and the angle on the legs make them pretty near impossible to turn over.
I have game cam videos of 300-400# hogs and other large critter banging into them and they aren't going anywhere and no where near in danger of being turned over.
The feeder still looks brand new - and their pricing is pretty dang good - I think they are even running a special. Quality all the way round.
And, no, I am not affliated or know these guys in any way except through purchasing a feeder from them last year. My experience has been 100% positive and just wanted to let everyone know of a quality product at an excellent price.

No!!
Neither the 55 gal or 1000lb one.
You have to use the ladder.

A varmit cage is going to be the least of his worries. If he is putting it at his lease north of Antlers, Ok, the bears and wild horses are going to be tough to deal with.

Any sturdy 55gallon tri-pod will work! Where you want to spend your money is on a good moister proof lid and a good motor! Spintech is the only way to go in my opinion!!
