Gene has a Maxus. He just used that O/U because at the time that's what he had.

Rob Roberson uses a cenergy..think it Judds old one.
Doubleb20 actually uses 20ga sxs
I used my 20 ga feather light Browning citori this year on four hunts at the coast.

I don't know any of these people you listed. Only know Rob posts on here...not sure I've seen these other people.

All this talk about autos is making me ill. Get an over/under. I have a Browning Citori and a Winchester 101. Never a problem cycling, the camo pattern never goes out of style cause there aint one. Man up. Get a real gun. The only person I know that uses an O/U for waterfowling is my dad. He uses it because he is left handed and he won the gun. Then again he only goes on a handful of hunts/year. I'm using my extra shot enough times where it makes since to not limit myself with only two shots. And congrats to you in advance if you are going to say that you are such a good shot you only need two. Another little secret is that O/Us are not bullet proof either...they will have issues as the same rate any gun has. I believe shooting an over/under has made into a better shooter. It has helped me to be more disciplined in my shot selection which has led to more kills per shell expended. I have hunted with a wide variety of guys this year and have noticed that when working a single or double come into shooting range there is greater patience and a higher percentage of kills on the first shot. I believe this is due to a higher level of concentration and more discipline in shot selection. When there isna group of ducks coming in there is a high percentage of misses on the first and even second shots. Many times this year i have not even shot until the others in my blind have expended two or even all three shells. I can remember only one or two instances where i have not dropped even a single duck when groups have decoyed. Yes i do work at my shooting, but taking my time to make sure i am on a duck and better shot selection, is, in my opinion the greatest contributing factor. In my frequently disputed and often erroneous opinion, there is too much of a rush to get as much lead in the air as possible and not enough GUNNING. I believe that autos contribute to this by the allure of multiple kills made possible by multiple shots. Oh, and i can't stand the look of those plastic guns they are churning out today. No offense intended. Just sayin'.

No offense intended. Just sayin'. I hear what you are saying and I think you are right...using a double greatly helps the undisciplined shooter. Your comments are in line with the idea behind why many fathers will start their kids off with a single shot. I think after years and years of wing shooting some will graduate to the point where they have the discipline it takes to wait for their shots regardless of the gun in use. Most of the guys I hunt with have been doing it for a minute so they actaully seem fairly disciplined but when I hunt with younger or less experienced guys I know what you mean. I'll admit that early season for dove I often let it rip but by the time I'm in the blind for early teal I'm back in my groove.

My.citori is beat to hell, and needs new blueing badley..to much layout, and marsh hunting. The great thing about a dipped benelli or blk maxus.. keep the choke lubed and your golden, and that's it action gets sticky spray with rem oil... My ou I break down after every hunt, clean and wipe..drives me crazy.
