Well i got mine set at 60 and after about 12 shots my shoukder starts to hurt but can go down any more since ist a 60 to 70 pound ......Im 6.2 220 so i dont think its to much maybe since im new my sholders is just breaking in???

Im 6'2" 215 My bow is set at max 65 pounds. Just keep shooting a little every other day and You will get use to it. Then in about 2 weeks You will be able to shoot alot ! But if it keeps hurting put the bow down. Good luck.

Cool yeah it dont hurt till after 10 shots but been shooting everyday with no rest so ill not shoot today

70lb on my Bowtech. Try using your back muscles and not your shoulder or arm muscles to draw your string. It helps and you can shoot more arrows down range before you start getting the shakes.

Got mine at 70lbs. Its prolly more like 68. I am headed in to the shop tomorrow and I will more than likely have my cables twisted to crank it up to 72-73 lbs.

dnt think i got do 70 more that once or so witch is fine for hunting cuz your not going to shoot more that 2 times anyway..... has anyone tried a pin sight with the line runing up and down to help with alignment cus i think im torquing it

I shoot 62# out of a 60# bow, I can shoot a 70# bow but why 60 is more than enough. Keep shooting and you build those muscles and you will find you can shoot more and more without any fatique.

Mine is set at 62#, which has been enough for all my hunting/shooting needs. I also do fairly frequent arm/shoulder excercises at the "Y", which keeps those muscles toned sufficient for an easy, smooth draw.

mine is set on 72#

i like the heavier bow, because of my short draw(27.5in)) it helps make up for the loss of speed.

if you want to be able to pull heavier, get into a gym and do alot of back related exercises, its your back thats pulling not your shoulder/arm

Do you have a peep sight on your string? That would help with aligning yourself and get a good anchor point aswell.

I move my mine up and down between 60-70.

I'm 6'2" bouts and 194#s. I shoot my Z-7 at 62 lbs. It's working for me!!

I am 5'11" and 198 lbs. shoot my Dream Season Evo is at 70.25 lbs but feels like its 62-64 lbs!!

Deer.....what is your let off. Shooting 70# at 80 off should not be that difficult for you. Suspect you may be considerably less on your let off.

I started at 70#, but had it tuned down 62#. Overall I feel far more confident since tuning down the draw weight and I believe my confidence has come from being able to shoot/practice more without getting tired. I also felt I was developing some bad habits when I was forcing myself to practice when I started getting tired.

yes i have a peep sight and im shooting 60 and its ok till i shoot 12 times or so but i havnt took a break been shooting it every day for 5 days its the freed bear trx 400 it shoots fast just need to get with someone in my area that in rowlett or garland to shhot with i can go to bow shop but not as fun ans making friends

does anybody make a heavy draw anymore.

what about an 80#?

at 5'11" 180# i shoot 73# on my bow. draw weight doesnt matter to much, as long as youre shooting atleast 45#. the only thing with the lighter weights, it limits the distance you can shoot for kill shots. when drawing back pull your shoulder blades together using your back muscles this will keep the pressure off your shoulders and allow you to shoot atleast 4-5 times as many arrows a session.

63 pounds, I am 6'1" and 205 pounds. I am ok to shoot about 20 to 30 shots before I start feeling it.
