I always see topics about getting cinnamon teal mounted...
Why?

Now I do think that all ducks are pretty animals but,

Whats so special about a cinnamon teal? Is it just because they are rare?

Same thing with a Mottled duck, Gadwall, Etc...

Personally I'd rather mount a bird with some color to it...

Having said all of that, I've never shot a cinny or a drake mottled duck...

Have you not seen a cinnamon teal the have a lot of beautiful colors to them

They aren't a common bird and they have beautiful colors...most waterfowlers dont mount just one single bird anyway. What's another one for the wall.

I have a better chance at shooting a band tomorrow morning than I do a Cinnamon Teal. If I shoot a banded drake, it's getting mounted. If I shoot a cinnamon teal, it's getting mounted. Both are trophies in a duck hunters eyes

Agree on the spoonie. There are very few ducks with better coloring than a mature spoonie. Good ones are hard to come by. I shot a cinn x spoonie cross last yr that was uglier than a mud fence. The cinn x bwt from the same day was pretty cool too.

Yeah I don't think a cin teal is any better looking than a lot of ducks but it would be mounted if I shot one based on how few there are in this area. I've never shot one or been a party to seeing one brought in.

Because they are beautiful and fairly rare in many/most areas of Texas. I've shot two; both in Odessa. Had one at the taxidermist and his freezer failed. He lost everything that was in the box, including my cinnamon and a bluewing and a greenwing. I was going to mount them as a trio.

I have always wanted to shoot one. Never been with anybody who has shot one, none of my hunting buddies had ever shot one, never even seen one. This year I went to south Tx and shot one....freaking pumped! 1 hr later a single comes in....got him too! The second one is headed to the wall. Not the best specimen, but a bird I may never shoot again.

I've shot 3 in tx and a pile in Mexico, and u will not find one better than that. Outstanding.

I don't think they are that cool. IMO I think a GWT look better .
