Bow season is the best time to fill those doe tags...we usually pop one or two durrin the doe day though...Lamps tags are great tools for our area i usually get a few a year...gona be gettin around ten this year...how much land do you have and what county? they are easy to get if you qualify for them

Don't get on a lease with someone you don't know.......

Before you tell everybody to look for new lease members ya better find out what "um... "type" of people, are not welcome, by the land owner.

The new guys on the lease can be a real pain in the butt until they figgure out that, no one is against them, this is just the way things work and they have worked well this way for the last 10 yrs.

I learned that I needed a new gun as my bolt action model 70 just doesn't throw out enough lead fast enough when a couple dozen hogs enter an open area. Hopefully I solved the problem with the purchase of a AK 47 last week.

I learned that...

The deer on camera in September and October can not be counted on to be around in November.

That a ten year old boy can not sit still for more than three seconds...and that is fine with me because he's with me and hunting.

Sitting all day in a leather desk chair that is uncomfortable, is much worse than sitting in a nasty folding chair that is comfortable.

Coons can eat TONS of corn.

Feeders fall down.....at the least desirable time.

Hunting in a 30mph wind stinks, in a blind, or otherwise....I think I new this already, but some of us refuse to learn.

My wife is a wonderfully understanding women who still texts me "will you kill something already" when she really wants me to come home.

Having the sheriff deputy and the GW ask your neighbors to stay off your place works much better than me asking.

Suffering through uncomfortable chairs, super windy days, not seeing deer, falling feeders, being discouraged because others are killing deer when you are not, is all worth it when that old, OLD deer that you have had on camera walks out in front of you on the last evening you get to hunt for the season.
He was a small nine, 13 3/4" wide, but still my biggest, and from my property.

I can't wait to see what I'll learn next season!!!

Passing on the biggest buck of my life seemed difficult at the time, but being a good dad and spending time with my 6 yr old son is much more important.

Sometimes Dad will have to be out there by himself he wants to shoot anything.

One should shoot a new rifle from the stand at a target before the season to get comfortable it.

My son has better eyes than I have even when I use binos.

Being out in the woods is my happy place no matter the weather or if I see anything.

I can't wait for next season.

That i hate ar rules and bag limits even more than before. And im gettin old! lol.

Rattlesnakes grow very big, and yet still are invisible while hiding in plain sight.

Snake boots are as comfortable and easy to put on as any other boots. Glad my wife made me promise to wear them.

Make sure to let someone know where I'm hunting, and then stick to the plan.

Set a check-in time with someone just in case the stuff hits the fan when hunting where cell phones do not work because stuff can and does happen.

Texas still has some very wild and remote places and I still enjoy them.

I learned that I have no mature, legal bucks on my place.

I also learned that when my 61 year old dad starts giggling in the stand, it's a good time to stick my head out of the window for fresh air.

The problem is that it's out of MY bolt! I'm sure you are fine with yours. Don't rain on my excuse for a new gun!!

I also learned that New (old) my Mosin Nagant is going to make a fine hog/varmint killing machine....in addition to any deer that get within comfortable range (iron sights).

Cigarette smoke doesn't seem to bother the does on our property

I'm only on 30 acres, Anderson county. Im pretty sure theres a higher doe population than bucks. Another thing is I keep giving does "passes" in bow season for having fawns with them... but I'm sure thats for another thread for another time...
