Well, due to the lack of birds in the area, I rescheduled my Group today so that Kelly and I could go and find the birds...

Well, we found them and did pretty well!

I love it when Scouting trips go this well!!! grin

J.J.

Looks like you guys had a good shoot. Too bad you didn't have any clients to put on those birds

So you cancelled a guided hunt so you could hunt?
Cool.

Stand up thing to reschedule but I don't get it why you didn't let that hole rest for your clients tomorrow. I bet that hole blows tomorrow.

Looks like you've got the hunting thing down. The customer service part might need a little work.

Imagine if you were the guy who got rescheduled today and saw this. Does that help?

judging by the pics there doesn't seem to be a lack of birds.

I would have kept it below radar about the hunt. Selfish act.

All of you guys giving J.J. a hard time for this post are an embarrassment to this message board. I, personally, have never met J.J. However, I have followed and read reports on this message board, along with the previous two he posted on, and have seen nothing less than class and a wealth of waterfowling knowledge portrayed by him.

Mr. Kent cancelled a hunt due to the lack of success he forecasted for his clients (I assume). I would really like to see how many of you would respond to paying $150 or $200 for a hunt and to end up with only a few birds. Secondly, yes, birds were shot and killed and not by clients, but do any of you ever take days off? Those of you who have followed J.J. for a while should know that he rarely has a hard time putting his clients on the birds.

That said, the point of this post was not to offend anyone, or provoke responses defending yourselves but to spread light on an issue that currently is affecting this message board, and one that has also been the downfall of others. People get on these message boards for a multitude of reasons, but to bash and attempt to discredit those who work hard at what they do is absurdity.

Happy hunting,

Colin

It was the right call. We didn't just blow off customers to hunt, we really went scouting to a place we haven't seen lately. We didn't know what was going on there, so how would it feel if we took someone to a place we don't know what up. If I was in their shoes I would feel good that if the guide said I don't think that we can put you on birds that a reschedule is in order.

Kelly I think that's a standup thing to do. You did that b/c lack of birds so y'all went to scout to find birds for your clients hunting tomorrow or soon. Found them and burned up that hole b/t the two of you. Is scouting and fun hunting the same in ya'lls book. Not here to bash ya but your not looking out for your clients if your hunting rather then scouting where to put your clients.

I'd rather get rescheduled than pay the money and shoot 1 bird. But that's just me.

I didn't take the time to read this garbage because, well, it's your first post, and it seems to be filled with garbage. Kinda like what happened to the paying client who will have to lose a day yet this guy still shot a two person limit.

Its absolutely NOT burned up. We left and had hundreds of birds trying get back in there. And we were actually set up off the x purposely and called the birds off the x to not burn it up. So I don't know what your problem with us guys.

I find it funny how everyone knows what kind of pressure this "hole" can take and when it will be hunted again. It's not like this is his only spot to hunt. LOL...

Keep doing what you're doing. There's a reason you're booked solid...

I wouldn't worry about it Kelly - I doubt you'll lose any business from the guys who've hunted with y'all before. I've hunted with multiple guides and I'll keep writing checks to Kent Outdoors AND keep paying for your Rajin Cajun lunches! I haven't been on a single bad hunt yet with you girls smile
